Allen made him move positions to Sam from the Jack spot for some reason. He is a strict pass rusher, dude didn't cover anybody in college. Build the scheme around the players, not the other way around.

Shaq Lawson / DE / Clemson / 6'3" / 269LBS.

Analysis:

Strengths: Built like a tank with thickly muscled legs and a broad chest. Clemson played him at 5-technique and standing up on the outside. Scheme versatile and will likely appeal to be 3-4 and 4-3 teams. Very powerful at the point of attack. Able to punch, extend arms and control the line of scrimmage or set a hard edge. Able to shock and shed blockers and has the hand quickness to staggered block attempts. Power allows him to play on other side of the line. Finished second in the nation in "stuffs" for defensive linemen with 17. Comes off ball low and with forward lean into his rush. Has frame to handle a double team. Has plus instincts and feel for the game. Toughness in full display.

My money is on this guy. We need some power along the front line. Shaq Lawson all day and every day

that's a very consensus mock IMO meat

In that same scenario, the question is WHO if the Saints have Xed off Lawson for physical issues?

I'd say Rankins, Spence, or even Ogbah. I like Dodd but am not seeing him projected that high. Same with Floyd.

No Lawson there and a trade back might be ideal for one of those same names.

I think if Lawson is gone you trade back and take Spence.

SI Mock - 2 rounds

LINK

Some changes from their last one. This is the second mock in 2 days I have seen us taking:

12 Laquon Treadwell (I know we need D, but I really like this kid)
WR, Ole Miss

47 Kyler Fackrell
OLB, Utah State

I don't know much about him so I could be wrong but here's SI's write up on him
quote:

Fackrell comes with a couple of warts—he will turn 25 during his rookie season and he’s not strong enough to fend off blockers on a consistent basis. I still rank him as a borderline top-50 prospect in this draft He can work in a 3-4 or 4-3, too, so New Orleans can vary how it uses him.

If this draft holds true, which it won't, there's a few other players around that are interesting:

44 Kendall Fuller
49 Su’a Cravens
50 Braxton Miller
54 Will Fuller
56 Robert Nkemdiche
59 Deion Jones

Yeah I'm glad you posted that. That's always the best one but I couldn't remember what it was called.

please do your own mock but not add the mock machine types here. Those things seem to get sillier each year. That is, the rankings are terrible and some ya can trade endlessly.

I don't see SD NOT taking Ramsey. He's the best player in this draft and they need secondary help. Also I don't think the 49ers reach that high for Lynch just because he's a QB. I could be wrong if SF loves Lynch, but there's no way to know that. And I, personally, don't think he's worth that high.

ETA: Also add Tunsil for SD. Both would probably be taken before Bosa. Also why would DAL take Tunsil when they have arguably one of the best already in Tyron Smith who's only 25 and just signed a monster deal.

agree SD Tunsil or Ramsey before Bosa

I also have seen a lot more Bosa or Ramsey to Dallas talk

Also cannot see Lynch that high, SF trading up or down for QB positioning more likely

If Bosa, Jack, Buckner, and Ramsey are available at 8 to 10 a trade up would be no surprise. 4th Rd pick for #10 and 3rd Rd for #8.

If no trade up and those 4 gone, it would be a great year for the front office to show off (as in, we can do it)a trade down! Reference for that...

#12 to #18 = adding #60 2nd Rder
#12 to #24 = adding #45 2nd Rder

I'm going to update shortly. The more info I get and hear from the inside the more I'm convinced our pick at 12 is gonna be Noah Spence. So get ready for him to be our selection day one. Also keep hearing how big we are on Su'a Cravens. More as a safety than a LB. So don't be suprised if he's the pick in round 2.

Don't make me has the happies Meateye

Spence AND Su'a Cravens... Talk about improving your defense instantly. Two of my favorite players.

Edit:
1st-Noah Spence
2nd- Su'a Cravens
3rd-Joshua Garnett
4th-Keyarris Garrett

Would be an amazing first 4 picks.
