Things are looking good.

For once a week 5 bye came at the perfect time to get healthy.

Sunday determines the rest of the season. Win and I think we can go on a roll. Lose and I think deflation hits, we lose at GB to go to 2-4 and we're all back in tank depression mode.

Imo, Detroit is the tougher game and GB is VERY beatable.

I mean they were at home and let Cincy take them into OT. GB isn't the team people think they are, and they haven't been in a long time.

they've reached the NFC Championship game in two of the last 3 years.

Look at the division they are in and the teams they beat in the playoffs.

They are like we've been getting by with the QB, but they've had a few better spurts on defense. We are also in a much tougher division (last two NFC champs came from our division and we routinely finish with one of the best combined records as a division).

GB hasn't been scary or mystique GB in a long time. They've had decent teams, but if they were in any other division they wouldn't have near the success.

True.

I don't know.. maybe/maybe not. The year they won their last Super Bowl they played the Bears in the NFC Championship game which is of course a division rival. They should have put Seattle away a few years ago in the NFC Title but an onside blunder and some plain ole frickery allowed Seattle to comeback and win.

They had no shot last year against ATL though I'd agree. Their D was as banged up in the secondary as ours was both times we played ATL.

Even if they beat Seattle the Pats would have skull fricked them. They match up horribly with the Pats (for that year at least).

Really most of the NFC has been pretty weak the last few years. Seattle was the last truly dominant NFC team and that was only for about a year and 3/4ths.

Edit:
I think the most overlooked thing is looking at the QBs in each division. Look at our division and name me another division that has every QB in the division in the top 16 (imo, but seems clear to me).

Now who has GB had to face each year. Stafford is maybe bordeline top 10 but outside of that Rodgers is FAR and away the best QB to play in that division in years.

It's like Brady in the East. He really hasn't had competition in forever.

its was Brady or Manning almost every year in the AFC.

throw in Big Ben and the Steelers here and there and the Ravens that one year and that's pretty much it.

but Green Bay is 3-1 so far this year, at least they play Minnesota the week before they play us. Minnesota has played them super tough (defensively for the most part) ever since Zimmer became the HC.

but the Lions have burned us recently. Stafford always seems to have big games against us.

I was talking about Brady and the other QBs in his division, not the whole AFC.

I mean they've had Favre one year, Pennington pre injury, and who else that would be top 10 since Brady took over?

NOBODY!!

Drew Bledsoe with the Bills a few years I think but that faded fast.

The Dolphins have suffered greatly since Marino retired and the Bills haven't been to the playoffs since 1999.

but I think the harder game coming up for the Saints maybe the Lions. They've had our number lately. Beaten us the last 3 times we've played.

The Lions aren't that far from being an undefeated team this year. Interesting tilt they have coming up against the Panthers this week I guess??

Yeah I'll be curious to see how the Panthers play them.

The one thing I think that gives us a decent shot against the Lions is having that bye to get healthy and prepare against them. And hopefully being at home. Need to get some of that homefield magic back.

last year there was a quality win over Seattle at home.

in 2015 it was ATL who had a 5-1 record coming in.

2014 we blasted Green Bay on Sunday Night Football at home.

so even in the three 7-9 consecutive finishes we found a way to get a quality home win but just getting one has been the trend lately.

Hopefully something new/better comes along this year.

The problem is our division is so tough. I was definitely wrong about the Saints and am thrilled to eat crow but the Bucs are beastly when healthy and Atlanta still looks like a top 3 team when healthy.

GB is 3-1 and beat Seattle 17-9 and there aren't any good?

I would have phrased it more like GB isn't THAT good, instead of that good.

With Rodgers they'll always be good, but they aren't that scary dominant team they once were. They struggle to win games while playing in a weaker division.

When was the last time Chicago was good? When was the last time Minny was more than kind of good? Detroit has been up and down.
