Is everyone just burnt out or saving up our energy for the grand melt of melts when that pick in finally announced?

It’s usually like this the week before the draft. We’ve discussed mock drafts ad nasuem and are just ready for the real thing to happen at this point.

This for me, and I haven't really partaken in any conversations about it.

The draft is overhyped. Each team hits what, 30% of their picks on average?

I think the UDFA signing period is more fun than the draft because it's the damn wild west out there. Getting guys like Smoke after the draft just feels way more rewarding than trading up to pick a small Texas university freak athlete DE

don't love the first round much at all. Like a few individuals but not nearly as upset about not having pick 10 as was before. Not saying we didn't get a shite stick but philly looks to be choosing from guys you see range from 9 to pick 28. Lots of different thoughts at there at values of a bunch of dudes. CB is rich this year and we don't "need" one really.

I already bought my Super Bowl tickets and placed my bets on the Bless You Boys, so I'm good.

This...

Every time I try and get excited about all the new developments I remember that Dennis Allen is still in charge

Well we all used to the same old shite. Saints trade up, give valuable future picks away and draft a bust. Last year was out of the norm in that we traded up of course but drafted a good player in Olave. Still gave a shitload away though.

Think a couple of the big conversations have a lot of the regulars burnt out. Especially when you click on a thread and see 2 people going back and forth about absolutely nothing for 2+ pages.

Also, picking so late in the draft after such a bad year probably removes some of the excitement

All around correct.
That thread was a abortion.
And as you said we pick late but if we were picking top 4 its a whole different ballgame around here. Except that thread would still be going.

I have no care or concern for the draft anymore. I used to go watch it at a bar. I don't even care to watch it at the house on background.

In their never ending search for just one more dollar they ruined draft weekend.

They pushed the draft back way too far. Nothing to talk about.

They have the No. 29 pick in the first round. Unless there’s a trade, it’s not really that interesting. I’m not saying you’re not getting a good player at 29, but there’s not the buzz you’d have if you trade up or have a top-5 pick.

Not just that, but they’re likely going to pick a player at an unexciting position
