There is a changing of the guard in the West. Alot of the regular dominant teams are starting to slide back. The Warriors and Spurs are going to take hits this offseason. We saw a couple of seasons ago that teams like the Thunder, Clips and Blazers are all dependant on one major superstar. One major injury pretty much kills their season. Mavs and Rockets are coming apart. Just hard to project what these teams are going to look like at the beginning of the season.

We have filled some holes, but still have some more to fill. Plus Davis has to take another step into a leader. But this team should be right in the hunt. I can see 50 wins, if everything breaks right. Lots of up and coming teams though. The Wolves and Lakers are going to surprise some people..

GS, OKC, SA, LAC, POR are basically locks.

GA will lose someone, OKC could be without Durant, and SA could be without a few old timers who may retire.

Would be nice if Durant goes to Bos.

Why would Portland be a lock but not us? They weren't really better last year than we were 2 years ago and our roster is much better.

Assuming Damian will play more games than AD isn't something I would base a "lock" on.

Throw in a Tyreke trade and getting Gibson or Terrence Jones and I will be in love with this offseason.

I agree a Tyreke for Gibson trade would be a dream scenario but I don't think it happens

I just think they will be good enough to get in.

And I dunno how I forgot Memphis. I hate this team being in the west.

I'm not saying the Anderson and Gordon are all that good, but how exactly did the team get better?

Does anyone really think the two new guys are better than they are? Maybe they are, but I don't see it.

Anderson and his defensive ineptness > Hill.

Is Moore better than Gordon? Again, maybe defensively but he's never proven shite as a starter. We'll see.

I just don't see how the team loses 2 of its best 5 and replaces them with lesser or at a minimum unproven guys and gets better.

Granted addition by subtraction may be how. I'm not sad to see either Anderson or Gordon go, but I don't think their replacements are much of an upgrade.

You're thinking about this in NBA2k Talent Points. In the AD era this team's biggest problem has been having bottom 10 defenses. This team should be much better on defense after letting it's 2 worst defensive players go to Houston.

That's all fine and well but we grossly overpaid for those defensive improvements.

I think we are clearly sacrificing scoring for hopefully more position versatility, defense and team consistency.

Anderson and Gordon were two rather large liabilities defensively and fairly streaky. When they are on they can fill up the score board but when they aren't? What we get in Moore and Solomon are two guys that can switch and guard multiple positions very well and collectively raise the on court IQ much higher then it was.

Will it work? Who knows.

It's going to take a while for people to adjust to the cap changes. Moore and Hill combined are basically 2 MLE level contracts. Hill a little above MLE and Moore a little below.

An interesting chart to help contextualize the change in the cap:

I get that. I don't think either are worth the MLE under the old cap.

Damn, I didn't even remember you posted on here. I was referring to 504BG and Mac504 - but now that you chimed in I am definitely on to something.

Love the draft pick though.

In today's free agency, you need to be a winner already or overpay.
