So look for Davis eclipse 21/15/2 on 57% shooting?
I mean his value not stats.

Shouldnt his value increase as his stats get better?

I would, if he is healthy and signs a 4 or 5 year deal first.

Hell no he's a Max contract and AD is a rookie contract.

Top 5 Players in the NBA are usually worth max money
And since AD is going to be better than Howard, you can expect him to be a max guy soon than later

I think you have to take that deal if he signs a five year deal.
As excited as I am about Davis, he's an unknown. Howard is a young perennial all star. Pairing him with Gordon now makes you a top five team. You're automitically there with the Lakers, Spurs and Thunder. If you can make the #10 pick count and bring in a big name wing or pg, you are a top contender for a championship now.
You'd be stupid not to take the deal IMO.
That being said...It would be tough giving up Davis' potential.

I agree
It's really a no brainer. Dwight Howard's do not grow on trees.

Hornets would be instant contender (conference at least) with Dwight/10th pick. Probably not a championship team though, whereas AD + some quality pieces would translate to a legit contender status, probably with increasing expectations (legitimate, not rantard) every year.

Don't forget Gordon.

Not so fast my friend! Look at how far Dwight has taken the Magic with less than Gordon. With Gordon, a productive 10th pick and a good FA, we are right in there competing for a championship.

Not being a dick, but you can't say that. Davis hasn't done anything in the NBA yet. I'm as excited as anyone here that we are getting Davis, but right now Howard is a known commodity and Davis is not. We can't even say Davis will be better than Howard at some point. We all just hope.
Posted on 6/12/12 at 2:54 pm to Suntiger
I don't like the Dwight attitude.

and i don't like one bit about what is known about howard. he has the talent to dominate the league but gets his arse handed to him to often. He's a pussy bag filled of vaginas.

You don't like Dwight. That's cool. But he's still a better ball player than Davis is right now.
And you don't know how Davis will be in four or five years. It seems like a lot of big name players screw up the public handling of their second contract. Look at LeBron, DWill and Melo. Hell, look at CP3. We all loved CP3 two years ago. Not so much anymore. Who says Davis does any better.
And who knows, Dwight may be happy here because he can make movies in NOLA with Brad Pitt.
Posted on 6/12/12 at 3:04 pm to Suntiger
I know he is better now but AD has a rookie contract and we all know how Dwight doesn't want to be in a small market(even if he does get to make his movies ).

Davis could be very good for the next 15 years....Howard, maybe 4 or 5

I'd give him a bit more than this maybe 6-8 years.
