Would you rather make the playoffs or miss the playoffs and get a new coach?
This is assuming a new coach is guaranteed if we miss the playoffs.

Anyone who wants to miss the playoffs should be tied down so all of us can fart in his mouth.

No question about it for me.

What if I said, if we miss the playoffs, we win the lottery and get a top 3 pick?

Obviously that changes things, but that's a terrible 'what if' scenario.

We need to make the playoffs now that we are this close.

If we had a better idea of who would replace Monty I might be for replacing him, but without knowing that I want the playoffs. Beating the Spurs at home on the last day of the season followed up by a series hopefully similar to the last Playoffs vs. the Lakers where we stole a few games would do wonders for the fan base.

I really want them to make the playoffs, but if they miss and get a new coach it'll be a decent consolation prize.

Also, Monty is not getting fired even if we miss the playoffs. Get over it.

not terrible. Just about the only thing that would make someone question making the playoffs.
I think i'd still choose playoffs. Mainly b/c it means beating a Spurs team that actually tried.
It would be nice to be able to draft Winslow though, who i would pick over Okafor for sure, more to think about on Towns.

I tend to agree with this, but I also don't think he's getting extended.

Pulling that level of asset out of thin air puts more talent on the team, and the amount of talent it puts outweighs the morale boost the team and fans get from making the playoffs. Even if it's just to trade yet another pick, you take winning the lottery over 1st round sweep if you had some way of guaranteeing it would happen.

I absolutely agree with this, but counting on 1.8% odds is foolhardy.

Let me make myself more specific.
If we do not make the playoffs - Tom Thibodeau is our new head coach. Guaranteed. This is a hypothetical situation guys, no need to say "DERPPP THIS WONT HAPPEN HES GOING TO KEEP HIS JOB ANYWAY"

I honestly would rather us make the playoffs. I think those few home playoff games we would have would be huge for the morale of the fanbase going forward.

NBA's attempt to fix the playoff matchups means we get Silver's blessing in the lottery as a consolation.

Thibs is an upgrade over Monty, I'm still not sure he's the long term coach. You tell me Hoiberg I'd lean towards replacing the coach, I just don't see too many other options out there that seem like the guy that could be AD's coach for the next 15 years.

But what if we make the playoffs and win the championship? Guaranteed.

Miss the playoffs.

Winslow would be the missing piece for this team. He'll be a top 15 NBA player in five years.
