Sadly I think tonight's win will make it much harder to get that third pick.

Would rather Lonzo Ball than trading the pick

I think everybody on this board would rather keep the pick. Sadly, we don't call the shots.

Although, I hold out a tiny bit of hope that if they got the 3rd pick, they might keep it. Simply because it couldn't land you a PG13 or Butler the way the 1st or 2nd pick might. They might be in a spot where they are kinda forced to keep it. At least for a little while, like with Buddy.

I don't care if it was a first, I'd still rather Butler.

If you can get Jimmy Butler for the 3rd pick, you kind of have to take that. He's 27, Cousin is 26, Jrue is 26 and Davis is 24. That's a lot of players hitting their prime at the same time. And a college player is no guarantee as far as being a good player.

We just need to make a coaching hire who can get them to play together. Maybe bring Pat Riley in as a consultant to hire the next coach.

Butler for a #3 is a no brainer.

We on the clock with AD and Cousins.

Does anyone here really believe we're getting the #3 pick?

Our odds of getting a top-3 are pretty low, even if we continue to lose two out of every three.

I see this board talking like it's sure thing, and we're setting ourselves up for a pretty big melt if it doesn't go down that way.

Chances are extremely slim and nobody should be acting like it's going to happen.

I'd rather trade it if we can get someone in return that would help us win next season, or if it would help us move some of the dead weight off this roster (Asik and Ajinca in particular, but also potentially Hill & Moore). The exception would be if the next coach somehow finds a way to use any combination of the above.

Between the four of them, how many million is that per season?

Hill and Moore are marginally better than 10-day contract guys and look what we're paying them...

With the remaining games I'd like to see:

1. Gentry's audition for making AD + Boogie work. Right now he's doing a miserable job and any respectably run organization would show him the door at seasons end if he can't figure it out.

2. See what you can get out of Hill. Increase his usage and get him involved because you're stuck with that shitty contract and he's Asik'd his way into your future whether you like it or not. He's already an above average defender; give him more more offensive opportunities and hope he can get more comfortable.

3. Give the younger guys the minutes. Our best way to build a bench is to find these cheap young players that stick with the rotation. Guys like Diallo and Selden and whoever else they throw a 10 day to. Give them some run and hope something sticks.

Unfortunately all of these things are unlikely to happen because they'd more likely lead to losses. But personally being stuck between not making the playoffs and not being top 3 this is what I'd like to see.

As a bulls fan I can tell you that ain't happening. The bulls held firm last draft and at the trade deadline that they want a top pick and core players to build around

This seems like too little value, but would Charlotte do Kemba and Batum for 3? They look locked into a 6-8 seed team without many ways to get better. 3's too much for either player and seems too little for both, but it's a good start to a rebuild if you can get a future star with 3 and can tank next year.

Yeah, that was pre Cousins trade when you could throw in Buddy too. Even if we get a 3 pick we're back to expendable asset poor.
