He’ll never overcome it and it’s an absolute liability. Gotta just pull the ripcord on him.

Actually, STFU, Green coached a helluva game tonight. You should be able to trust CJ.

We scored two points in the last 4 minutes. Multiple possessions were failed to even get up a shot. The same issue we’ve had all year. Most blown leads in the nba and the only team in the nba to not win a single game when trailing heading into the fourth

The last play was awful, fricking retarded whatever he drew up, looked like a Trey 3 off a high screen, but OKC knew that was coming because everyone knew that was coming.

But the players also played like complete morons down the stretch when they were handing us the ball. The Larry turnover off the rebound, missing 3 three's on one possession. We played like actual bitches.

It is amazing to me that any Pelicans fan could still be defending this head coach when we have seen this exact outcome repeatedly all season long. Truly amazing.

What game did you watch? His ATO calls are abysmal. That final play call was biddy basketball at best. Keeping Nance in the game at the end, especially after we took the lead was a joke.

Willie coached a good game against an extremely tough opponent. Our defense was solid for the most part.

At the end, Larry couldn’t quite finish at the rim on one of the last possessions. Caught too much iron.

CJ got jostled and lost the handle in the backcourt and still almost made his shot.

What about that beautiful ATO to get Herb that open 3 that he hit late in the game. Also Herb had another wide open look to go up 3 that he clanked. He makes that and nobody is talking about coach trash. The players have to execute and hit open shots which they had like multiple opportunities to do. shite we had 3 good looks on 1 possession and came up with nothing.

Y’all quick to blame Willie but that defensive game plan and performance gets no credit at all? Hell his team was in the game with BI looking like a scrub and Trey Murphy as his best player.

They don’t call that man a basketball terrorist because he’s clutch in the playoffs.

When it's the last shot scenario, who is our worst defender on the court?

The answer is CJ.

Who did SGA hit his shot on to go up 2, then 3 with the FT?

CJ.

Why wasn't Herb guarding him?

B/c they drew up a simple play to get the switch and let their best offensive player go up against our worst defensive player.
It's not rocket science.
Had we made one of the 4 fricking shots we took on the previous possession, then we could have called timeout and gotten the defensive substitution we needed for that last play, or it wouldn't have mattered b/c we would have had the lead at that point.

Now lets go to our last shot.
Who was the worst defender OKC had on the court?
To be honest, they really didn't have one, but they also knew what play was coming and how they were going to defend it. They had the bigger J Williams on CJ to start and the smaller Casen Wallace on Trey, knowing that pick was coming so they could switch it and have Wallace on CJ.

If you'd told me that CJ shot was what we would get to win the game before it started, I'd like our chances. If he misses softly, JV gets the tap in b/c he moved Chet's ozempic's arse clear out of the way to get any close offensive rebound on that shot.

While i love JV and what he can do in this series, if you're not going to give him the ball on that last possession, then there's no point in him being out there. I would have rather Naji, or it really should have been Hawkins.
We should have had a dribble handoff for BI with him attacking the rim full speed, with CJ, Trey, Herb and Hawkins all positioned for an open 3. Whoever Chet was guarding go to the corner where the play is to be run so that you get him to leave his man when BI gets in the lane and we get a wide open 3 in the corner, or if they rotate quick enough then it's wide open on the wing. And if Chet dosnt' help soon enough BI gets a shot at the rim. Not a fadeaway, a shot at the rim. And the play is designed so Dort isn't riding on his back to the goal like he did all game. Set a good pick on him.

Instead we were playing for the win the whole time, had no real play drawn up and if CJ doesn't lose the ball, the final shot was going to be a step back 3 anyway, which wouldn't have been much better than the shot he actually took.
The play we actually ran, was the same play we ran the possession before when CJ forced the issue on getting penetration. The actual last possession CJ had no intention of taking a 2.

No one’s saying it’s the shot we wanted, but it quite literally was an inch from going in and perfectly on line. Objectively it almost went in lol

Why is the press so soft on Willie? Is anyone going to ask him about the lack of minuets and sets for JONAS who clearly dominated the game.

This is mickey mouse coaching.

Yep solid defense. We missed some crucial shots, unfortunately.

You're right.

I'm attacking the rim with trey and cj at the 3 point line.
I'd put naji in too

0-24 when trailing going into the 4th should be enough to fire him....

I don't know what game y'all watched last night, but the shots were there, they just didn't hit them. I agree that Willie usually doesn't coach the end of the game well, but last night was not one of them.
