Why are there no serious workouts scheduled?

A brilliant poster on another board pointed out that it's pretty odd we aren't working anyone out yet. Demps is in Europe, but surely he trusts Monty to workout and evaluate at least some of the players right? If he wants to interview the players I'm sure they could have him video conference in and record the interview to get largely the same assessment.
Even the only workout scheduled is odd. It's an individual workout, which Demps has always avoided in the past. And the workout is for Burke, a guy that the team believes it is unlikely to draft based on Chris Miles' statements about the team viewing him as too similar to Vasquez and Chad Ford's statements about the Rivers experiment not being over. Either Demps is locked in hard on Saric, which doesn't make sense with Saric complaining about no promises, or Demps already has a trade in place that he's so confident in he's half assing the player evaluation.
But even half assing the player evaluation doesn't fit Demps' style. Trading for guys like Jason Smith and Belinelli relied in part on information compiled preparing for previous drafts, would they really not want to get information on future trade targets or free agent signings? None of it makes sense.

I thought that was pretty funny, too

I've got a serious workout scheduled later this evening, bro, gonna kill my traps.

I will point out that some of the workouts last year weren't for a few more days yet. 17th and 18th I think.

Maybe the Euro playoffs fell at a slightly different time last year, but I don't recall an information vaccuum like this before.

Nor do I. It is odd.

Maybe he's heeding my advice and has a trade in the works?
If not
What the hell is going on out here?

No, but I tend to agree. Smirk is a brilliant poster. Probably the most brilliant poster ever.

I have no idea who or where he was talking about. Brilliant and poster are usually mutually exclusive.

Anyone that thinks Burke and Vasquez have anything in common is fooling themselves.

Whoever Chris Miles is quoting here is a fool then.

This is the word on Burke "he isn't faster, more athletic or a better shooter than Greivis, but if he is he could give us options"
LINK
Who he's quoting is another issue entirely, but the implication by using "us" in the quote is that it's a team source.

quote:Chris Miles? Really? He is probably quoting whatever that tool Fletcher tells him to say. Fletcher is so up Saric's butt, he probably is just making "sources" up. When's the last time Miles broke a story?

In Monty's press conference yesterday he said that no one knows how this draft's top 10 will turn out, which seems like it'd be a better idea to do more workouts, no?
He also said something about a lot of players not wanting to do workouts nowadays, but I assumed he was talking about at the combine. Maybe he meant individual workouts for teams

Being number 6 could cause problems because "top 5" guys may refuse to workout for the Pelicans.
