Cant help you there. If you dont believe getting that roster to league average on offense was good coaching, then you will never be happy.

43% from 3 and 36 points in the 4th quarter. Guess they just got hot.

Please break down that 4th and point out all the defensive miscues for me. Then tell me how many 3s were hit over a defender.

I'll wait.

5 - 8 points with 5+ minutes. It made no sense.

Get over yourself, bro.

Why are we +15 points in the first half of games and -25 in the second half so far this year?

The other team always seems to be able to make adjustments while it seems Monty just goes with one game plan from start to finish. The lack of set plays and plays coming out of time-outs is also frustrating.

I agree with the people that say Monty would be a great assistant to have but he is definitely not fit to be the head coach.

I've defended him in the past because he didn't have the talent. His half court set (not sets, since we run one freaking play) is painful to watch. If we were actually stopping teams, he could continue to live off the DEFENSIVE COACH excuse, but even that isn't happening.

He needs to go and go soon, I want Karl.

He did such a good job with terrible talent the year after CP3 left. That team was in so many games they had no business being in. As he's added talent, things haven't gotten better. Things will get better this year with or without Monty, but even once they do, I'm ready to move on unless they go on a tear and win a playoff series.

Guess ill be in the minority here...but I still think CMW is a good coach and you have to understand he is working with new pieces. These guys have to learn how to play together anf that doesn't just happen in practice.

He is a great teacher and has done a good job in the development area of our roster. Who from our team from last year on this year's team has not improved? You expect improvement from your coach in developing players and wins on the court. The wins will come once this team figures out how to play together. You've noticed the mistimed passes and lack of communication on D. Thats not necessarily something I would put on Monty. Its just four games in guys. We'll get this turned around and forget we had this conversation.

I'm over it. Roberts on Bledsoe to finish the game is all I need to say. Their best player by a mile running in circles around our defense while Jrue and EG10, 2 above average on ball defenders, sit in the corner and watch.

I've been over it though. Your head coach should not look confused...literally. Why they even show him on the overhead is beyond me. It's infuriating. He is the Les Miles of the NBA without Chavis and CamCam. We've sucked in the coaching department since losing Malone.

Oh, and our bench is consistently getting outplayed and it's MT5 all over again. Put in the damn spark guy and see if it helps. Isn't a tough concept.

Lets complain about everything, but never actually talk in specifics.

Well small sample size and they haven't played well. Go look up the scoring numbers for Monty teams in the 2nd half. Last years team was outscored by 1.5 points in the 2nd half. The year before was 2 points. Those are both high lottery teams. Those numbers dont fit the "Monty always gets run out of the gym in the 3rd" complaint.

None of this means Monty doesnt deserve criticism or is even a good coach, but yall have this narrative in your head that doesnt hold up at all.

I've always defended him, but I'm starting to lose my patience. I'll try wait for Anderson to come back to really judge, but we should have won last night and opening night without Anderson.

ETA: I was at the game so I didn't read the game thread, but am I the only one that thought the 7 minute mark was way too late to put Jrue, EG, and Davis back in the game? The Suns going a run in the 4th, and our 2nd unit is playing almost half of the 4th. Then when he does tell them to go in, he watches another bad couple of positions and waits for the ball to go out to get them in. Of all the bad times he has burned a timeout, you don't call one in the 4th to get your best 3 players in the game when you're getting your arse kicked by the Phoenix fricking Suns? I know both Orlando and Phoenix shot pretty well, just seems like they wanted those games a lot more than we did.

Everyone on this board said he was gonna be one of the top coaches in the league. I'm so confused. That was like a couple months ago

I don't buy that crap anymore. We have talent and we don't need time to learn to play together. We aren't very good right now and we should be. End of story

What I'm saying we should be able to beat the suns and magic on talent alone. There's always an excuse

It's the NBA, lesser talent beat better talent all the time.

There's certainly some issues with this team that need to be resolved (3rd quarters, losing all energy when other team goes on a run, defensive breakdowns). That doesn't mean that the reason these things are happening is because Monty is bad coach.

The team definitely needs to mature and find a leader on the court who can stabilize them when things go bad, but it's still only 4 games into the season. They will win some games they shouldn't and lose some games they shouldn't, but I'm not going to jump to any conclusion about this team and Monty after a handful of games, I've seen too many teams turn it around midseason for that.

I'd bet a good bit of money this team will have an impressive winning streak at some point of the season, I just hope we aren't in too deep of a hole when that happens.

Great assistant to have on staff, but don't think he's ready to be a Head Coach.
