Tyreke Evans missing layups and AFA retardin up and down the court.

Their fast break game is very similar, which is obviously scary.

What? So he had a game where he was allowed to get to the rim and unusual amount of times? Still missed some layups and turned it over 6 times.

Good game. Glad to see him playing well but hardly bump worthy.. I saw nothing in his play to indicate he had turned the corner. He's always been prone to a game like this every couple months.

he can miss as many layups as he wants if he can maintain nearly 60% from the field. Give me a break

1 game where he does well doesn't offset 4-5 that he plays like shite.

He only had 2 really terrible games in his last few(Was/Uta).

Other ones?

30/5/3(60% FG)

18/6/6(47%)

22/7/5(58%)

18/6/5(45.5%)

He hasn't been perfect but not "shite"

He made his layups tonight. It makes a big difference when all he has to beat is a guard instead of his man and multiple bigs.

Reke has his issues. But they're exacerbated by Monty and our horrid shitstain dumpster fire of a bunch. There's no way there aren't some D Leaguers better than Salmons and Rivers

I honestly wouldn't mind him doing that so often if he actually passed the ball to someone else on every other possession. There's times where its like 3-4 straight possessions where he's the sole handler and the only person to even touch the ball.

I agree with this. I thought we got way too stagnant in the fourth quarter last night. It worked because we hit shots, but as we've seen, we can't count on that consistently. It also helped that we had a big lead going into the fourth. It's frustrating because for three quarters we moved the ball and got good shots.

I was thinking about Reke and his layup problems this morning and I'd like to pose this question to the wise sage PT brethren council of knowledge and intellect and superior fandom (#WSPTBCKISF).

What percent of TyTys missed layups are "missed layups" and what percent are crazy attempts that didnt go in?

Im going with 25:75.

He's missed a lot of gimmes this year. His at rim percentage last year was 54%, career 59.8%, last night raised his percentage to 49%.

It's amazing to think that the success of this team is largely dependent on Tyreke being able to make layups.

The success is really tied to the defense. When they create misses and turnovers they get out running in transition and the energy of the team is totally different even in the half court sets.

ETA: In wins we average a combined 16.28 Blocks and Steals, in losses we average 11. When we have 15 or more blocks and steals we're 4-1, and that 1 loss was Portland, a game we should have won.
