I agree. Also, with the exception of BI, no player on this team getting serious minutes has played with Zion before (not CJ, Herb, Jonas, Larry, Jose, Trey). Zion is such a unique player it seems obvious it will take some time to figure out the best way to get the most out of each other. It’s not going to happen overnight.

i expected this learning curve.

and on top of it zion recently said he's going to be shooting more jumpers and 3 pt shots..that will entail more adjustments.

I expected the breakout season of tm3.
missed on that one.

glad to see kira start in a stint in the minors.
they extended him but not hayes.

I mean, he's better than he was last year. Is he breaking out right now? No. But it's a long season.

I forget who really brought it to my attention, but every up and coming team gets that one run where no one was expecting them and they get to exist in this perpetual high of recognizing they are better than they thought and everyone else not yet respecting it. So that team has a chance to over perform and win a lot of games that maybe they shouldn’t always.

Dallas and Atlanta had it couple years ago, Cleveland had it early last season, the Pels had it later last season. Feels like the Jazz have it right now.

But once teams know they know, and the word was out on the Pels so no longer are you catching teams off guard. I think this young team is having to adjust to that. That we aren’t the underdogs and teams have game plans and us pencilled on the schedule as a team you have to get up for.

I’m not ready to claim Willie is a poor coach. I do question some of the rotation minutes and the utilization of Zion, but he’s young too. If we are 40 games in and it still looks way harder than it should given our talent to score, and we can’t put it together defensively, guys that shouldn’t are still getting major minutes. I’ll panic, but I think this is the natural process of a good team coming up against a good league that finally respects us.

I mean this is it. We are only 13 games in. Anyone reaching definitive conclusions about this teams floor or ceiling is just being ridiculous. At least wait til the new year before sounding the distress signal.

We aren't the Heat, but Lebron's first year in Miami the Heat started out the season 9-8. They had a young coach and a true super team that knew how to win. We have a young coach, a team with a ton of talent that don't necessarily know how to win.

Point is, I think it's going to take some time and semi-struggling with chemistry and coaching with new pieces playing together is not new. Our guys aren't the Lebron/Wade/Bosh Heat, but the team is loaded and they just have to figure things out and sometimes that takes time. I expect more of a well oiled machine in a month or so and I can't wait to see it. Just need our training staff not to step in and not make guys sit out over a bad hangnail.

Idk how much more you want, he needs the shots but right know he's putting up

11.5/4.5/1.4 shooting 46.7/39.4/95.5 and solid defense.

For a 5th option, I'm happy about that. What I think everyone (including myself) hoped was 15ppg but he needs those guys to feed him if so.

Yes but chemistry is the main thing.
I'm agree with some guys, i think Jose must get more minutes. He's the only real point on the team.

Agreed. Never thought CJ should play as the point. He's great as a 2 guard but he's not an instinctive facilitator.

The only thing about giving Jose more minutes is he needs to be able to play at a high energy level. I like him coming off the bench.
