This team is poorly coached and has a lot less talent than we thought

I think we caught lightening in a bottle the end of last year.

Willie Green has no idea how to coach defense. And that’s supposedly his strength coming in

Rotations are awful. Defense is perpetually lost.

But the worst part is basically every player we expected improvement from is worse (Herb, Jose, Hayes, etc). I won’t even get into Ingram looking horrible and McCollum thinking he’s Kobe out there and just chunking every game. Or the fact that Zion has zero interest in even considering playing defense.

It’s rough out there. And looks like it’s going to stay that way. Willie looks worse by the game….hope last year wasn’t a fluke but the evidence is starting to pile up

I’m not saying we’re not talented, but I don’t think we’re this high end talented team that we were made out to be. The Blazers looked more talented than us without Dame and Nurkcic. We look very average right now and our bench isn’t very good. Maybe it’s not a lack of talent, but a lack of balance. Our 4 best players are all bad at defense and it’s hard for all 4 of them to have good offensive games the same day. Hopefully we can turn it around but right now we’re a very average team.

We have ridiculous talent and tonnes of depth. We’re just playing like utter morons for long stretches in games.

Tonight was the worst so far. We shouldn’t be losing to that line up at home ever.

What happened to the team that exploded out the gates in game 1 and looked like it was ready to tear its way through the whole league. We look flat now.

1 game.

We look like we had more talent than Dallas without BI/Zion/Herb... but we weren't.

Keep in mind that we've been on the road for the majority of the season with 2 backs to backs in a span of 7 days.

Let's see what Willie does in this home game stretch. It's probably really difficult to make significant changes in personnel and scheme with the schedule we've had. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and wait to see what he does in the next week and a half at home.

No the frick they didn't the fact that they had to play a zone shows that it's just our coach puts the team in bad situations with his lack of adjustments

Team is just young. They have great talent, just needs time on the court.

I still would like to package Graham, Hayes, Temple, and some of those Milwaukee picks for a 3-D player to play along side BI or Zion when the other is on the bench.

17 Turnovers to 8 and mostly by our big 3...plus CJ still shooting like arse and it brings an L

Rotation guys are fine, but it isn't a secret, defense and random other stuff from game to game has suppressed the team's results.

Yesterday the random fault was tons of turnovers by our big 3, but the reason it was such an advantage was because the Pels caused only 7 by the Blazers, so still defense rearing its head.

Clearly the team knows, BI already said it pretty bluntly, it's just a question if they will be able to do anything about it.

on what basis did the Pelisons decide there would be such specific improvements?
hope?

your zion issue is the biggest. others have brought it up. internet prognostication rates zion a bad defender.

i was wondering about pick 1.2 morant in the context of great offense meh defense. why? I saw him play his freshman year.
6th man. got in foul trouble. soph year starter. no more foul trouble. I think his coach said "just" be 20 10 Pg. we need you on the court.I see in close ends of games he gets a block or steal. I think he could be a good defender.
also related to zion, I saw n interview of bane and he said he's glad brooks has to chase the opposing best perimeter guy so he bane can have the energy to be a scorer. maybe zion doesn't feel fit enough to exert on defense.
id like to see him be interviewed about defense.
see how he sees it.

don't be hasty about the bucks picks. both Jrue and Giannis will miss 2nd game in a row Injured.

your proposed move won't make zion a plus defender or produce a better starting point guard out of the guards. which in my book says this roster isn't getting out of round one.
save your powder.
no all in deal.
id welcome moving hayes and temple at your earliest convenience. just not throwing in picks like they aren't huge potential.
Giannis stubs his toe (or whatever) in 2024 you get a nice return in the next draft.

1 game.
I game on a back to back after traveling for both teams. As expected, it was very sloppy and just a bad game for both teams. The schedulers did not do either team a favor.

Im not gonna lie to yall. After one of these losses i get emotional about it too and I say stuff like this out loud. Then I calm down.

The defense will come with time. You see flashes when the guys are concentrating.

Rotations will work themselves out. Its a dozen games in.

Herb is going into year 2. Yeah Hayes sucks. But Jose and Herb are fine. Agree CJ needs to chill and get these double digit assist nights.

Its fine. Its early. There are a lot of good teams struggling early to get their footing this year. Pels are one. The main thing is for you to pull your skirt down. So dramatic worse than my wife.
