You're right. We probably win this game without EJ.

Oh, I thought the argument is that the current roster would be better without Gordon.

Since that money could be used elsewhere -- yes, it would be better without him.

I think he is better than Roberts, Rivers, Morrow, and Aminu.

Yes he's a better basketball player than those guys.
But his 14 million a year says he should be scoring 20 a game and helping us close out games, which is something he's done that i can count on 1 hand since his time here.
I'd rather him not be on the team and have that money to go elsewhere or even no where, than spend that much on a guy that doesn't bring us to a different level.

Not to mention he's sporting a worse PER than Aminu to go with all that money.

No, it can't be used elsewhere. He is on the roster. It is what it is. We can either use him for $14M or not use him for $14M. In hindsight, I don't think any of us match the Suns offer, but I left my time machine in my other coat.

A trade would be nice right now, but it's going to be hard to trade him. A tanking team is not going to want to take on his contract. A good team looking to improve is not going to give up more than expirings for him right now, and that's even questionable with this year's FA options. You'll almost have to take back bad contracts to get rid of his.

So, that leaves us with: he's better than Morrow, Roberts, and Rivers.

Say what you want, but i'd rather take on expiring contracts and do what we can in FA while maybe staying under the tax.
There's no point in him being on the team for next year if he doesn't push us to a different level. We are better off with anything but him if he can't elevate his game to elevate this team to new heights.
