The win Saturday means nothing after losing this one.

This team can't handle prosperity. Every time, and I mean every time this team over the years builds fan excitement they send you home a loser. It's truly remarkable how many times this has happen. They never seem to steal a game when they don't play their best. They lose games with sizable leads. Anyway, I was very excited about Wednesday night, but after another choke I'll try and calm myself.

The win saturday keeps the series from being 1-3 and now it's 2-2. Just gotta win the games ahead of us.

In a vacuum he’s right. We stole one from them. They stole one from us.

The problem with the Pels is that they lose too many games against inferior teams, including teams with key injuries. It’s almost always a blown lead, and involves a 4th quarter where they get very few stops. For a team with their record, being 6-9 in clutch games is bad.

Let's try not to lose sight of the fact that we're 8-2 in our last 10 road games. And that it's very hard to beat a team like the Mavs twice in a row at their place.
Now, if we come out and lose to Charlotte, then I'll be concerned.

Following an NBA team always always quickly alternating highs and lows. Moreso than the NFL for sure. It’s the nature of the beast.
We played well on that road trip. Dont overreact.

This game was one in which the opponent was clearly helped by officiating
The Pels got calls early for tik tak fouls and had to back off - it set our defensive strategy for the entire game as weak and Dallas got a lot of room to play. Val had to sit and couldn't play his game. That fourth quarter we were in foul trouble within first 90sec and we didn't get in the bonus until the Zion missed FT at the end.
Which according to Joel - the foul count was wrong on the score board. I wonder if the Pels go to Zion if they knew the actual foul count?
My guess is the NBA saw an opportunity to win viewers after the cowboys loss and decided to make the game interesting. This is the modern "ratings first" NBA.

quote:And executed this by calling more fouls on the Mavs and 41 FTs(6 more than the Mavs) to the Pels?

Look at 4th quarter stats.
3 out the gate fouls on Pels in first 90 secs of the 4th quarter - Dallas in the bonus for the last 8 min of the game. Pels have to play back and let Dallas score because a wrong breath gets them FTs.
Meanwhile, Dallas hacks Val, Zion and BI all 4th quarter - no calls, no bonus until intentional on Zion. I lost count of all the over the backs on Val that were ignored on boards.
And again - Oops - the score board was wrong. Sorry if you thought we had one to give, our bad.
Pels didn't help themselves. BI had a terrible game. And Irving and Hardaway played amazing. But officials wanted Dallas to win this.

And yet in the 4th (when it counted) Dallas had the very clear advantage in calls. So not so weird.

It's just a hard sell, that is all.

End of game is all that matters - look at any Lakers game and you see it.
Or look at any close Cowboy games this year where odd last minute flags helped a mid-level team get a 2nd seed in the playoffs.
Then make a rule where players and coaches cant talk about it or else they take your paycheck back.
Its not that hard to sell.

So they purposely make them win in regular season so they can choke and lose in the first round?? Man thats cruel lol
