You think a guy like Rubio is enough of a pass first guard so that holiday can do his attacking from the 2 spot? We need a facilitator that doesn't care about his points.

You can give them ball to AD all night in the post when he has a SF guarding him the entire night, instead of giving him the ball at the 3 point line, or not giving him the ball at all.

And just b/c someone gets doubled doesn't mean a 3 pointer needs to be taken. Cut to the basket and get an open layup, but we haven't made those kinds of cuts all season.

Yeah, I think it's more likely that they can implement a ball movement system than get the dynamic attacking guard they need to run a P&R 3 man game with AD/Boogie. Gentry said after shoot around that they took stuff out, so it's going to be a process, and they honestly faced a better team tonight. Houston has been pretty damn impressive this season.

I dont know if Rubio will have enough shooting for a Davis/Cousins lineup. I like him if you're running PnR w/ only Davis or only Cousins and a bunch of shooters.

it's kind of hard to cut to the basket when the defense is sagging into the lane to help on the post. also math....3>2. even if they only hit 30% of their 3s, they have to hit 45% on the shots they take instead. if it's open, let it fly.

they ran multiple sets w/ Boogie posting, with Davis screening up high, then diving to the rim. every time, the Rockets collapsed on Davis and left Hill wide open. if it's open, let it fly. that's not the shot they wanted, but it's the best shot they got. take it.

plus, if you dont want Davis or Cousins stretching out to the 3pt line, there will never be space in the lane for anyone to cut or drive.

bottom line- it will take some time for them to figure it out. being apoplectic right now is a waste of time.
