Was at a packed bar tonight, game was not on and nobody cared. New Orleans does not give a frick about this sorry organization. Cubs are more popular than this team. I bet less than 5 percent of people in this city know who Alvin Gentry is.

When they put a good product on the court people will pay attention and care. But they are wasting a budding superstar, just like the saints are wasting a future hall of fame quarterback .

When they win, people care. They've been irrelevant so long now you are right. Not the people's fault. The 07-08 Hornets had signs on business buildings and businesses using the entrance billboards with stuff like Geaux Hornets streaming across them or Beat The Spurs. Again, one playoff series win with prime AD and CP3. It is emotionally taxing to be invested in this team. Just look at this board. Patience is non existent and rightfully so. Wasting generational talents is garbage.

Cause supporting your team through bad years makes winning that much better.

I know as a lifelong Saints fan...

It did for you. For others. It just makes years of misery. I can enjoy a good team without getting pulled into all of the suck. I'm getting to that point with this franchise.

Dell needs to be fired now and replaced. Let his replacement decide if Gentry can be salvaged.

Can we fire Dell now and just have Danny Ferry take it over full time.

I agree that many people don't care about the Pels, but an elimination game of the world series that could be a historic moment in sports and the Pels were playing their 3rd or 4th game of the NBA season, which most Americans don't watch until the playoffs

No one cares about a shitty team, shitty front office and shitty ownership! I wish Team Benson would sell the Saints and Pels to someone within Louisiana that had fire in their belly again. I just don't know if such people with that deep of pockets exist with in Louisiana.

only in a big market will people remotely care when a team is bad. When a team is good, fans will rally behind a team. It's just the way of the world

I fear the Pelicans may suffer the same fate as our late AFL Voodoo team if the city doesn't wake up.

Poor marketing, awful roster makeup, and a disinterested front office.

We have an NBA superstar who's prime years are being wasted.

We are wasting a superstar/generational talent which sucks, but people have no right to complain when they go to games rooting for other teams and question why we suck.

I imagine playing 82 away games is hard on a team.
