Friend of mine cousin works for Nola.com, and his boss told him to start developing stories regarding an Asik, Reke, and 1st round pick for Jimmy Butler trade. A source within the team told his boss that AD really wants Butler, and believes he will be a key 4th piece for the team.

He claims his boss told him the bulls want a first for the 2017 draft and then another future first, but the pels don't want to give up 2 first round picks.

Even the worst of GM's would trade Asik (terrible contract, never plays), Reke (solid player, expiring) and two 1st rounders for Butler. The ghost of David Stern could guarantee that the 2017 draft pick would be the #1 pick of the draft and it would still be easily worth it. The future first rounder (in two years) would have little value coming from a team with Jrue/Butler/AD.

They're literally trying to use this to get a better deal out of Boston to get Boston to agree to two players and a pick.

Good Lord, if the Bulls have a stud two way wing on a good contract that they don't want to keep and the betst they can get is Reke and a late lottery pick while taking back Asik, then Butler must have some serious baggage.

If the Pels have a core of Holiday, Butler, Davis, and Hield those won't be great 1st round picks anyways. You should also be able to make small moves for depth at that point.

Reke/Asik and a first is about enough to get Stephon Marbury. I think he might still be under contract with the Knicks.
I'm not even going to make up some scenario where we make a trade for Butler. We do no have the assets to do so, unless we were trading AD. there is literally nothing we could offer outside of AD that would be close to what they are looking for.

at a minimum, I would think it would cost us Buddy/Holiday and our first...which I am fine with if it gets us Butler.
