Dude may end up in college for 4 years now. I usually applaud guys for going back, but I just can't see any way to justify his decision.

Bennett just doesn't do it for me. I'm not a fan of 3/4 tweeners.

I think people are too fixated on positions, I just want guys who can play basketball and do it well.

It's not necessarily because he doesn't play a certain position (I'm a fan of McCollum), it's just that I think he's too slow to guard the average SF, and too small to guard the average PF, and I don't think he fits with this team. On top of all of that, he's struggled to stay healthy for a complete season, dating back to high school.

We pretty much already have a better, and bigger version of what Bennett is projecting to be in Anderson.

For a while i think that was the case.

I think its swung the other way in the last few years now, where the "positions don't matter" folks have gone a little overboard.

Positions absolutely matter defensively when you're trying to figure out who someone's going to guard. You could line up with 5 Chris Paul's on offense and be fine, cause sure positions don't matter there. You're screwed defensively though.

Thats Bennett's problem. Offensively he's fine, but who does he guard on the other end...

I think Davis gives them an edge defensively, being able to guard the 3 or 4, maybe even the 5. They could always put Bennett on the weaker player of the opposing team. He isn't that small, 6-7, but has a wingspan of 6-9.

Did you read the whole thing or only fixate on one part of a sentence?

It isn't just his size, it's his speed as well. Say we play the Spurs, their weakest player would be Splitter, who would destroy Bennett on size alone. If we play the Pacers, their weakest starter would either be Hill, or Stephenson, who would blow past him every possession. This is the NBA, you can't mask defensive liabilities like that.

Look I'm a DJ honk cause he played at Brother Martin and he's one of the few pro players in any sport I got to watch live from the student section at Jesuit, but Burke has intangibles that DJ simply does not have.

What are you wtf'ing?

If he isn't the best shooter in the draft, he's top 2 or 3. He's an absolutely excellent shooter. Perfect release.

Maybe someone with insider can start a thread on this.

Our @Kevin Pelton ranks 60 players using his Draft WARP formula. Noel, Porter & Caldwell-Pope on top. LINK … (insider)

For those that don't know, WARP is an advanced statistic that said Ryan Anderson compared most favorably to Dirk at the same point in his career last offseason.
