Oh trust me, if we're getting Klay and Barnes I would probably jizz my pants. I would then run to GSW and offer to pay for their plane ticket back before the Warriors change their mind.

I just don't see that happening. I like Klay. But again, it can't be done "straight up", and that's not an even swap.

I think we would have to sweeten the pot a LOT to get Barnes. Gordon/AFA for Barnes/Klay/Jefferson works on Trade Machine (I think a TPE is involved), but I still think we would have to give up some kind of protected pick for GSW to even consider it.

definitely.....

GSW gives up:
Klay Thompson
Harrison Barnes
Richard Jefferson?

Hornets give up:
Eric Gordon
Draft pick
Player to be Named

^^^^^^^^
Thats the scenario I think that would go down if these are the 3 main players involved

I have a feeling we'd have to give up a 1st rounder along with Gordon and another player or two to get something like Thompson/Barnes/Jefferson

If this is the most likely trade to happen before the deadline, a trade isn't going to happen before the deadline.

If he can really shoot, then I'm in.

Who would the Heat trade for him, though?

That's a huge leap you're taking.

I take that as sarcasm right?

The only reason why the hornets didn't let him go to PHX was because they would have lost part of what they gave up for CP3 for nothing...Therefore they did the smart thing by signing him and keeping him by thinking they can dangle him until someone bites. This is a classic NBA saga with a player who doesn't want to be where he is, but is always "hurt"...Vince Carter did it back in the day, I believe Marbury did it as well. It sucks, but smart move by the hornets. If EG10 shows he still has the bright upside then the hornets can get some good out of him. If not..ride him out and sell cheap possibly.

He will not be a hornet/pelican though....he is now..but SOON he wont..

No, it's the truth. The Hornets do not "want Gordon gone" as you implied.

You are projecting your opinion here. In fact, it contradicts your statement of wanting to "get rid of him." We wanted to get rid of Okafor.

I would rather the combo of Klay Thompson/Harrison Barnes over EG10/Austin Rivers

what you think...

From the Hornets side or Warriors side? I could see the Hornets being very interested in that. If Rivers becomes the penetrating creator they hope he can be then your future starting lineup would be set and you'd have a lot of money to fill out the bench. If Rivers isn't that guy you still have enough money to go after Jennings.

I haven't seen that trade proposed and don't think it's even possible.

I don't feel as strongly. People are overvaluing the frick out of Klay Thompson right now.

This is nothing like the Carter saga in Toronto. Gordon, when he plays, plays hard. Go back and watch those final Toronto games- THAT is tanking.

Fair to call Gordon injury prone and perhaps even soft, but he's done nothing on the court that even smells like taking.

I can live with Klay. I'm much more interested in Barnes filling a major gap at the 3 long-term if the two are packaged together.

Is he really the answer, as well? He's not exactly rookie of the year material.

Would anyone be interested in rush instead of Barnes to make the deal work?
EG for KT, RJ, and Rush
I know he's out for the rest of the season with his injury, but he has a player option for 4 mil next year.
