No Perk came on his own because he may have though we were a top choice.

Perk is hanging to an NBA roster spot by the skin of his teeth he would've played for whoever would take him. ZERO chance the Pels were ever in Durants Top 5 landing spots.

A team with two top 5 players can't crack the playoffs as we sit now?

1. Has that ever happened before
2. Why is that appealing to a guy who is chasing a ring

No way is signing perk to play they do for his leadership. The Car players were pissed they didn't bring Perk back.

What other team can offer him a top 5 teammate, childhood best friend teammate, Possibility of Kevin Ollie as coach, Front office that has fleeced his current FO. Tax benefits, etc. etc. Jalen makes a great point if he leaves HOU is the spot. In fact he repeated himself on the 4/6 podcast yesterday.

As evidenced by that 38-40 record and 9th seed in the West, they're soooooooo close!!!

38-40, they need a lot, obviously.

I'd say they're desperate for wins right about now.

5 or 6 seed lock!!!

HOU would beat OKC and SAS in a playoff series, but since they know GS is unstoppable, they tanked for the draft pick. That talk may be coming...soon.

HOU have a top 5 player, all the cap space in the world, a top tier front office, and soon to have an elite head coach. They are hardly desperate. Desperate is the Pels who 4 years after landing Davis are in worse shape now than they were when he was drafted. 28 of 31 years of non losing seasons isn't desparate CC is a winning organization and they will continue to be one.

How often would you say top 5 players in their prime come this close to a losing record/missing the playoffs?

I offered you a 100$, 500? No way not betting that you're liable to not pay. 100$ is collectable, 500$ is not IMO.

It's hard to believe that a Harden/Dwight lead team is worse than a Martin/Scola lead team, but it's true. This year's NetRtg -1.1, 2010-11 had a 1.8 NetRtg.

Why do you think it's that close to happening this season?

Prob once every few years. Not really rare.

Because the team gives half arse effort they made the WCF last season and they are a big game for every team they play. Meanwhile they only see a handful of teams as big games. In a league as competitive as the NBA when you don't bring it every night, well let's just say it can catch up with you. They'll make the playoffs but don't look like they will be able to draw OKC now. So 50/50 chance or greater they don't make it out of rd 1. Booo hooo See ya Dwight thanks for the effot, Kevin Durant welcome to Houston.

Does a true team leader allow his team to half arse it THIS much to the point of being this close to missing the playoffs?

What would you put the % chance they beat GSW in round 1 if they face each other?

Harden is having a down year as a leader, I'll take a look at his career up to now and combine it with what guys like Coach K have said about him and come to believe that this year is an anomaly and kinda came out of nowhere...but isn't difficult to understand WHY it happened when you take a good look at it.

max of 10% chance vs GSW. Vs SAS prob anywheres from 25-50%. OKC better than 50% chance to win that series. LAC I'd put at even money 50/50.
