That's fine, but that is still a critique of the first trade. I admire them for accepting sunk cost and moving on. Dell rufuses to do that 9 out of 10 times
They took a swing hoping Ibaka would make them a playoff team and they would resign him and move forward with that culture. They were wrong, but they were big enough men to admit that. That should be applauded, not mocked IMO. Unless you are one of those rare people who are right 100% of the time

A GM should understand sunk cost and do what it takes to make his team better.
A fan can appreciate the GM recognizing a mistake and making a deal.
He should still be held accountable for making a shitty deal and then needing another deal to bail himself out.
I'm not going to give Dell much credit for dumping Asik, for instance.

Agreed, but the situations are different. The Magic traded Ibaka, after realizing he wasn't a good fit, and prior to investing any additional resources. We, on the other hand, spent a 1st to acquire Asik, saw that he wasn't that good over the course of a season, and then gave him $58 million.
While Orlando's GM can rightfully be criticized for making the OKC trade, and appreciated for making the Toronto trade, I agree that the reaction to Dell making a trade now involving Asik should be neither criticism or appreciation.

I would still appreciate him doing it vs not doing it. People often just evaluate 'What is vs What is' but you can also evalute 'What is vs What is not'
If not trading Asik is a D and trading him is a C, then it's a good move by any measure or definition

Oh, agreed, and I think everyone else would as well.
I assumed the (un)appreciation in this situation was realizing that Asik is not a good basketball player, rather than actually finding a team/deal to get rid of Asik. At this point I would be greatly impressed if he can find a team to take Asik, but would not be impressed that it took Demps this long to realize Asik has no future with this team, regardless of any previous investments.

re: hennigan, this is the guy who:
1) gave away tobias harris
2) gave away mo harkless
3) traded up for elfrid payton (and passed on saric)
4) drafted hezonja then hired a coach that has buried him
6) signed biyambo to that ridiculous deal
5) now has turned oladipo/11th pick into ross/late 20's pick
not good, bob

Hennigan is most likely getting fired this offseason.
And Demps will still be here.

It doesn't matter what you paid for a guy!!! How do some people still not get this??? If you want to lower Orlandos grade in the OKC trade, that's fine. But that cost is already spent. Orlando's current options were a deal like this, lose him for nothing, or overpay him. So THIS deal is good for them and should be graded as such.
Pels should do the same thing with Jrue but we will lose him for nothing instead this summer.
