Even if this team turns it around its far from a championship squad. We have a chance at max space, top 5 pick, and smarter players. I'll choose that over keeping low IQ one way players.

As disappointed as I am, I'm interested in what Gentry can do with a different roster. AD and Jrue are keepers. Maybe Qpon if it works out. Oh and Perk for pocket change because he's Perk.

On the Lowe Post @WindhorstESPN suggests (via @tomhaberstroh) this trade around the 38 minute mark.

Can you honestly say that you think this core will win or legitimately compete for a title in the next 4-5 years?

If the answer is no, then blowing it up is the only true solution.

If you think the answer is yes, then I'd genuinely love to hear why.

It has nothing to do with a desire for instant gratification. It's just reading the writing on the wall. I'd love to be wrong, but at this point there isn't much evidence to suggest that I am.

Yeah, this is not about tanking. I think that even if they do cash in expirings for future assets they still won't end up worse/better than the 7th or 8th pick. But you can't double down on this roster, especially if you're committed to the coach you just signed to a 4 year deal.

If we could somehow dump Asik, and Ryno/Reke/Gordon for Whiteside I would piss my pants.

During a guys night out package promo during the Dallas debacle Joel actually said "safety in numbers." I almost fell off the couch.

Id be for the move. Just about anything to shake this team up. But a couple things re: Whiteside

You won't have Bird Rights, so you have to create max cap space to likely keep him, leaving few options to improve roster depth.

Miami is a franchise with strong leadership and pedigree. Riley, Wade, Bosh are winners and willing to do what it takes to win. If a guy doesn't fit in with that type of culture, how is it going to work coming to a team that seems to be leaderless?

Yeah, after hearing what Lowe had to say about him, both the off court locker room baggage and his lack of multiple efforts and having to be encouraged to execute their scheme, why would we want that at a max salary even if we had Bird Rights? There are better ways to blow it up.

Yeah and that's before cashing in on a max contract. I'm for just about any realistic Pels move that doesn't involve their 1st, but there are some flags here.

I thought the opening of the pod on coaching turnover and "fire the coach" panacea was fascinating.

Trading for Whiteside would so be a Pels move

I'd trade anyone not AD for something involving Winslow

Keep AD, Jrue, and Q. The rest can go.

And yeah I'd love to get Winslow from the Heat.

Bumping after tonight's ugly loss.

It's time to clean house. Not in a few months, not after the season - now. Dell and Alvin need to be the first to go before they do anything desperate that will frick us even more down the road.
