I've heard the Celtics, Bucks and Hawks are considering moving up. Pelicans may try to buy first-rounder. Clippers want to acquire a pick

I know I know kennedy

Given that It'll be a late pick, these names are interesting:

Justin Anderson SF UVA
Anthony Brown SF Stanford
Rashad Vaughn SG UNLV
Guillermo Hernangomez C Sevillia
Arturas Gudiatis C Zalgris
Nikola Mutinov C Serbia

Plus any guys that could fall

I don't think anyone has outright sold a 1st in years. Let's pour one out for Robert Sarver and his wife's handbag.

Typically, you "buy" a 1st by taking on ~$10M in salary. Like Utah did with GS and how CLE/GS are trying to attach 1sts to Haywood/Lee. I don't think the Pels have the ammo to make a move like that and not be worse next year. And kneecapping themselves is not an option.

I didn't think people did this anymore.

Since the new CBA changed the $3 million limit from per transaction to per year, no 1sts have been sold. It will be interesting to see what happens with Boston and LA who reportedly just want to cut salary commitment. Could we see one sell for $2.5 million leaving the buying team a little spending money for later in the year? Will this happen on fiscal year 2014 in which case how much cash considerations did the Pels send out in trades this year if any? Anyone remember?

What about throwing douglas's non guaranteed deal in?

I think Miami gave us cash when we got norris IIRC.

Trades that happen on draft night don't become official until july. Maybe MM could clarify.

Cash considerations just go on the money pile, they aren't part of the cap. So adding Tonry Douglas does nothing unless it's part of taking back a contract they want to move.

Miami giving us cash doesn't matter. You're allowed $3 in and $3 out. And the amount has been rising 100k each year so for 14-15 the amount is $3.3 million.

Makes sense

I honestly see dell packaging 56+something(probably douglas) and getting a pick in the late 30s/early 40s.

I've been trying to read Coons CBA FAQ to get a grasp of this.

The last one I remember - I believe it was Jeff Bower who sold one walking out the door.

"Jeff Bower" immediately screams "bad move" to me and reminds me of what could have been.
