I would make moves for shooters. It isn't always about just acquiring talent. "Hey this guy is talented with good stats lets add him".

Winning teams are based on fit and chemistry. This is how the 2011 Mavs beat the Heat.

The purpose of this team is to zig while others zag. The only reason we have any potential chance at all to upset someone we shouldn't beat is by being big and doing what others can't. This would be scoring in the paint at a higher clip than anyone else can due to having the best big men in the game. You surround these two with shooters similar to how Orlando did with Dwight from 10-11.

But, hey I honestly wouldn't expect anything less from fans to get all excited because we haven't made any moves yet and "HEY I KNOW THAT GUYS NAME, LET'S GET HIM!"

I'm over it. Let's at least get better.

I think we can all agree that Rondo's floor isn't as low as Reggie's.

Hey if that's the game we're playing, no doubt, I will take Rondo for a year over Turnstile Jackson for 3@51 mil. So, YAY championship!

We aren't excited just bc he is a name.

Rondo is a facilitator and is exactly what this team needs. He can run the P&R and setup everyone else. He is good on D and can control tempo.

Jrue is going to be the 2. Yes, we need to add another shooter but shite Rondo on a 1 year deal will allow us to make other moves and not mortgage the future with a trade ala the Reggie Jackson deal.

Edit: Not to mention his relationship with Boogie

Overall, signing Rondo is probably the best we can do with our current contracts. Unless Asik magically disappears. We will need Cook and Diallo to contribute and need another bench player as well.

Stupid Asik!!!

frick YES! Rondo was playing at an absurd level last year before he got hurt and I don't think the Celtics get out of that series if he doesn't go down.

Jrue, Hill, Crawford, Rondo.

Those are the guys we want taking threes. We still need shooting, but at least we have another plus defender in the backcourt. We can hopefully slow down all the elite west guards a little more. And we still have the best frontcourt in the league.

I'm not sure people realize how shitty Rondo has been for years now, outside of like 5 games last year. He's also been a cancer on a few teams.

I'll go on record saying I don't want Rondo on my team, but I understand the potential fit and benefit.

I think he's ours. If you're a pure point like Rondo, what better situation than having the best big men in the league. Not only that, he's good friends with Boogie, and all 3 are Kentucky guys.

So let's think about moves to acquire shooters.

The Dallas Mavericks got so frustrated with Rajon Rondo by the end of the season that the team made up an injury to send him to the bench and the players opted not to give him a playoff share, according to reports

Rondo quits on the Mavs

But, you're probably right...LET'S GET THIS GUY!!

Dude I lost my fricking shite last year when he was linked to us then. I understand how you feel. The landscape had changed a lot since then.

If Rondo puts up 11pts on 45% with 11ast and 6rebs is that worth it? That's his line from one season with Cousins.

I strongly agree. But it's low risk high reward.

I'm hoping for 20 minutes from him, nothing more. In a close game, I can live with him making decision... Watching jrue throw away close games this past year was frustrating

Rondo with the Mavs was an anomaly if anything.

this more than anything else is driving all of the chatter here.

talk of Rondo having a low floor is weird. he hasn't given a damn about anything other than assist hunting in the regular season for about 5 years. anyone saying otherwise is just looking up stats and hasnt watched him play.

i get taking a flyer on Rondo on a cheap deal for a year. i get wanting to make Boogie happy so that he will stay. i dont get being particularly excited about signing Rondo in 2017
