The humor I found was in the affinity for Biloxi moreso than a love for Mobile. If you want to argue for D League attendance, I can go along with Biloxi > Mobile because of the Navy/Air Force presence, but the cross-over marketing bump or fans taking road trips to D league games are flimsy arguments to me.

How is that humorous? Do not a lot more people from New Orleans have an affinity for the Mississippi Gulf Coast whether it be summer/vaction homes on the West Coast, or time spent in Biloxi/Gulfport? What little interest people have for Mobile from what I have seen is driving through the tunnel on their way to thr beaches.

Your whole notion of the AFB is not really a great point, this is not the 50's. Oh and yes cross-over marketing you mention, you are right on one side, very few people are going to drive from New Orleans to the Coast for a game, but if you dont think they could not sell any ticket packages the opposite way, you are sadly mistaken.

Would all of you people wanting a DLeague team in your back yard actually pay money to go see DLeague level play? The season happens at the same time as the NBA season, and with the NBA having 3-4 games a week, it really seems like it'd be hard for avid Pels fans to find the time to follow and support them.

If it doesn't interfere with me being able to watch actual Pels games. I'm sure it would interfere sometimes, but there could be so open nights for it as well.

I live about 15 miles west of Lafayette, so I can't make it to too many games a year. I do watch basically all of them on TV though.

It would be cool to have it, but I think the smartest move would be to the gulf coast with either Biloxi, Mobile or somewhere like Pensacola.

There are hundreds of minor leagues teams in various parts of the country in different types of sports that do very well. So yes people would pay money.

Lafayette's minor league ice hockey team gets good draws... I have no doubt people in Lafayette would go watch D-League basketball at the CajunDome

My gut feeling is it will be far west (Lafayette or Shreveport) or far east, (Pensacola) because of travel reasons, proximity to other teams, and suitable commercial airport. All of these places have regular connectivity with major hubs.

with the current teams in the D league in Texas and Oklahoma and none to the east of us in the South, it almost certainly would have to be to the west of us. Bossier and Shreveport might be the most logical spot bc they have an available arena, and a history of minor league sports
