Tell that to most of the successful coaches in the league. Some teams who have ball dominant guards along with franchise players stagger their ball dominant guards instead of leaving them in the starting lineup. Hell even some of the best players on the team (Harden-OKC; Ginobili-SA) were coming off the bench. Why? because they could create their own shot and were ball-dominant guards. Clear example, who's better? James Harden or Thabo Sefolosha? James Harden, so he should have started instead of Sefolosha right? He still played 31.4 MPG to Sefolosha's 21.8 MPG. He still shot the ball 10.1 times to Sefolosha's 3.7. He still scored 16.8ppg to sefolosha's 4.8.

Basketball is not won in the first quarter alone. Reke is a better scorer than EG at this point, you let him score coming off the bench and take attempts away from Ajinca, Jimmer, QPon, Cunningham, etc.

You don't leave him in the lineup to take away shots from Jrue and AD. EG starting allows AD his shots, but gives him an easier time by allowing him to play closer to the goal instead of having to space for tyreke and knocking down mid-range jumpers so much. Sure he can, but his % goes up as he gets closer like every other player.
