Just don't know why people are ecstatic to go after a guy who can't stay healty when that's their main knock on Gordon, and Gordon has had much less serious issues. I understand it'll be a cheap risk but there is literally nothing that indicates Oden will be able to ever contribute in the NBA again.
If Gordon was unhealthy but he had a great attitude and never tried to force his way out of New Orleans, people would be much more patient with him.

Yeah, that is true. His attitude has changed a lot, though. He does seem legitimately excited to play with his new backcourt mates and has been trying to show that he's become committed to playing here. With the amount of rehab he's been through and his much improved motivation, I can see him having a great season with us. An injury should be the only thing to hold him back this year, so we need to hope for the best.

Naw, Greg Oden isn't leading anybody to a championship. If we ever win one it'll be because of all the players around him.

Checkout his stats during the last season he played

Am I seeing this right? You're bashing people for wanting Oden?
That's rich

Not bashing them, just don't understand the want when it's highly unlikely that he ever produces in the NBA again. I'd rather save the money or not have to give up someone already on the team when I feel like any Oden experiment is destined to fail.

10 minutes of oden action will produce more than a season of withey's.

That's probably true, but how many games of 10 minutes of Oden are you actually going to get? It'll take him a while to even get into game shape to be able to produce properly, as we saw with Gordon. I'd be all for going after Oden a few years ago but he's had too many knee issues for my liking. Don't see him ever playing at a high level again.

Go ask Deshaun Thomas from Ohio State how well Oden is doing.

Not me. Never really cared about his attitude it's the $14-15 million of cap space he takes up. Guy could be the best human being on the planet and I still wouldn't want to risk that money given his propensity to get hurt.

WE NEED ODEN
ODEN > D12
ODEN > D12
Posted on 7/15/13 at 2:34 pm to tehchampion140
Dude you act like it would cost us so much for him. As posters have said, it is a low risk/high reward move. Not that hard to understand right? Unless I am confused about the money situation??

Greg is low risk high reward to all asking about this. Hell cost you pennies, and if he's healthy, we could potentially have a top 5 center. If not, big deal, well do what we were going to do before Greg was even mentioned

I'm just praying this happens. Such a great opportunity for us
