That actually wouldn't be a bad pickup (McLemore) - not sure how much our D would suffer but our O should be much much improved

The reason they are semi comfortable trading Buddy is because they have two SGs they like. Would be no need for McLemore

Only reason to trade for Boogie is to bank on him being a less volatile teammate as he hits his late 20s. In his current state, DO NOT WANT.

According to Woj the Kings don't want to pay Cousins. Does anyone think Cousins will stay with the Kings long term if they don't give him the extra money the new CBA allows them to? They may wait until the offseason, but they are at the point where you trade a star that is going to leave anyway. He's only got 1 year left after this one.
The reason to do the deal now instead of waiting until the offseason is like MM has pointed out, make the Kings own pick as high as possible. Get the same deal this offseason with your pick and the Pels pick at 10 or higher, or get the deal now and maybe have the Kings pick be a top 3 pick. It also would let them see Tyreke at PG. Resign Tyreke, draft Jackson

That's not terrible for year 1 of a rebuild with a new arena to fill. 2 young exciting talents and the return of Tyreke.

The Pels can put the best pacakage together for Cousins, Lopez, and Drummond. There aren't huge markets for any. It just comes down to whether those teams pull the trigger or don't. My bet is Sacto and Det choose not to move them. But who knows
Point is, Pels are willing to give up a bunch of picks and the guy who was their 2016 pick, showing unequivocally that they have no desire to build slowly. But if it is for a player that is worth it, so be it I guess. But best case scenario is that Jrue, AD, and Boogie are making 90-95 mil in two years. Back to being a top heavy team that better not get injured

If I'm stuck with Demps, I'd rather him bet the farm on a legit superstar than go after more Jrue Holidays and Tyreke Evans.

Yeah, the new DPE can only come from the team that drafted you unless you got traded while on your rookie deal. So if the Kings aren't going to give Cousins the DPE then they are in the same boat that we've previously been in for star FAs, you have a meaningless extra year and only a slightly higher number for the annual raises. So there isn't much financial incentive to stay with the Kings, and not only are they not a winning team, their relationship has been rocky and chaotic at best. You have to think Cousins is out the door without being paid to stay.

That's what happens to any team when their best player gets hurt. Not many teams can win consistently with their primary players hurt.
