Another Dell Demps jackass move. This guy is a has been. Just a idiot who does dirty shite to players when he's briefly in games. Pelicans don't need an arse clown like that.

Dude he won't be in at the end of close games. What the hell are you smoking lol. He's here to be a tough guy who will stand up for his teammates. If he's in close games in the 4th quarter then something is seriously wrong and we would be in major trouble regardless of who we would have signed for this role.

He's a role player moron! If post players foul out late in games like they sometimes do. Who do you think will come in to relieve them?? Boy some of you are so retarded I swear. And why the hell do they need him?? For what?? They aren't a soft team, idiot!

Incredibly ironic statement from one of the most ignorant posters I've seen on here.

Anyway. We have 4 capable bigs. Only two of those have to be on the court at a time. Sometimes 1 if we play small ball. So the only case he's on the court that late in a game is if 2 of our 4 bigs foul out. We also have Cunningham who is an undersized 4. So like 3 bigs need to foul out in order for him to get any significant playing time.

Now stop the name calling and stop getting butthurt over end of the bench players. He's a tough guy who will stand up for his team. Who wouldn't want a player like that.

He's the 5th big. Do you expect Asik, Ajinça, and two of Ryno/Cunningham/AD to all be fouled out? Otherwise, he shouldn't be on the floor in crunch time.

ETA: Withey (who is being replaced) played in 37 games and averaged 7 minutes per game, Perkins will probably get less PT than that.

What does that even mean?

If there is a scuffle on the court he will get up out of his seat and look at other players with a mean face?

I don't even get it.

No, but if a team is getting too rough with Davis, you can count on Perkins to set a couple of hard screens and send a message.

What he's really going to do is bring that mentality to practice and tell these guys they need to set better screens and be more physical. He's no KG, but what the TWolves are hoping to get out of KG, imprinting a mean streak on a bunch of young guys that haven't faced real adversity on the court, is probably what we're hoping to get out of Perkins. Do you think Ajinca will get better going up against Withey or Perkins every day in practice?

Then he gets ejected, and they'll keep being rough with Davis.

Maybe, but the league does have a long long history of end of bench bigs that are there pretty much for this role.

People are arguing a lot about this guy. He's like the 14th guy on the roster. A 5th big that will get virtually no minutes. He's here for exactly what ATL said: A vet presence at practice, in the weight room, in the locker room.

Any other stuff, like Durant, is kind of ridiculous to get into. Maybe its some very marginal effect, like Perk tells him about the teammates and facility and coaches and city, but its extremely marginal.

He's a vet minimum end of bench big here for vet presence. The end.

Exactly.... This notion that people give a frick about Perkins when it relates to Davis is silly. This is not the 80s or early 90s.

When they blew 4th quarter leads against good veteran teams.

Being soft isn't always a physical term. Also, every time they played a team with a grind it out physical pace they got dominated. Perkins can help with that, not on the court, but in the physicality he will hopefully bring to practices.

I don't get why this is a big deal. Would you rather Withey? he literally brought nothing to the table.
