If the problems with our defense will be solved by adding a 2nd rim protector, then what is the problem with our defense? No team is built around 2 elite rim protectors. Is Anderson that big of a liability or is a scheme that brings Davis so far away from the basket so often the problem?

Would absolutely love for them to get Sanders.

The bigs on the Pelicans suck. It needs to be fixed, but the bigger problem to me is their lack of wing players.

They have 6 guys listed at 6'10" or taller and 5 of them have a BLK % of 2.9 or higher. Steimsma, Anjica, and Smiht rank as 24, 31, and 69 in the league in that category among players with 200+ minutes. Withey's % would be good for 38 if he played more minutes.

Blocks don't always equate to good defense, but they have guys who can protect the rim on the roster. The problem lies in scheme and the talent around them.

Sticking these guys out there with a bunch of small perimeter players is never going to work.

I don't understand the talk of moving Tyreke.
And I would NOT NOT NOT try and get anything from the Bucks unless it's Brandon Knight or the Greek kid — both of which won't be really good for another two years.
Move Gordon, sure, but not just to move him to move someone else in the future.
Either that or be patient with the club and watch them develop—which none of you seem to want to do.

Well being a rim protector is a secondary thing for Davis.

A glaring need is a glaring need ya know? No teams are really built the same, and the Pels are one of the most uniquely built in the league.

I do feel blinded because I was really happy about the Tyreke signing, but, I really like what he does for the team. I see him as a high character glue guy. He can do a bit of everything and is willing to sacrifice to better this team. Championship teams are built around those kind of players. For such a poor shooter he is over paid, but pretty much all non rookies are.

Exactly. A lot of people aren't fully understanding the role a guy like Evans plays on a team. He's not going to be a 20+ ppg scoring machine. And, yes, he's slightly overpaid but when you're New Orleans you have to do that to attract free agents.

here is a trade i came up with

LINK

i would hate to see EG go, but bringing in Zaza and Giannis would be big for this team. you get an expiring in Villanueva, to free up cap room next year.

Why did you come up with a trade that makes the Bucks better and fricks both the Pels and Pistons?

the pistons are looking to trade Monroe and get something for him, they get OJ Mayo while trading Villanueva freeing up cap.

Bucks get Eric Gordon to play the 2, and Greg Monroe to pair down with Henson. They remain one of the worse teams in the league and get a high draft pick.

We get Zaza and Giannis, we get a big man and a guy who has a ginormous ceiling in Giannis who can play the 2 or the 3.

The Bucks would have 0 fans left if they traded Giannis. They love him there, and they'd be foolish to trade a player whose ceiling is Kevin Durant.

OJ Mayo has recently started publicly complaining about his role on the team, so Gordon for Sanders and Mayo considering the ownership mandate doesn't seem that crazy.

Mayo can also buy valuable minutes at the p.g. spot from time to time as well.

I'd take a half-eaten calzone for Gordon. But not Lin and Smith.
