I'm so glad to be amongst a group of people with a basketball IQ so superior to that of AD. If only AD were as smart as all of you, maybe he'd see the light.

Its not that he isn't a decent coach. He is a decent coach. I just think he was a placeholder. A guy that can take a team out of the bottom of the league, work with some young guys, and take them to a certain level.

That could be very accurate, I suppose. He doesn't seem to have that certain "edge" in temperament, and I can't figure out what the frick his system (offensively or defensively) actually is.

Defense is a struggle. I think his offensive system is actually pretty damn solid, but the guy running the point goes off-script way too often.

I'd rather pump sunshine than cry myself to sleep. It's really an easy way to live life.

His offense is, play defense and score fast break points

If they dont play defense, their offense is Tyreke dribble the ball for 15 seconds, high pick and roll pass the ball to AD

Come on now. Monty's offensive scheme is pretty damn solid and he has some unique offensive sets.

I know you watch the games, so I can only surmise that you don't understand what you're watching.

Eh. He does run some good offensive sets but that isn't consistent by any means. Our offense mainly consists of high pick and roll, some Horns, and a whole lot of iso.

Just look at the off the ball movement by GSW or SAS and then look at us. Night and day.

Then again, I see the games that we lost to the Knicks, 76ers, Magic, etc. I see him sit on the bench with no enthusiasm. I see little to no direction during game play. I can see arguments for both scenarios and I am ok with either outcome, as long as it's the right one.

The record against the East is the biggest reason Pelicans barely made the playoffs. Worst record - 14 losses - against the East of the top 10 teams this year. Closest among playoff teams was the Clippers who lost 11 games to the East.

Why did that happen? Lots of reasons propagated on this board but likely an amalgamation of injuries, coaching, effort, etc. When you lose to dregs like Philly, Knicks, Magic etc. you almost have to win 2 games against the elite teams ahead of you to compensate because they are usually beating these teams.

I'm not a big Williams fan. He's a solid coach but not spectacular. I put him in the Andy Reid/Jeff Fisher mold: Will win games consistently but won't be elite.

But I think this organization has bigger issues. They desperately need a legit and respected NBA Player Personnel/Basketball Operations person to oversee the organization and evaluate where they are and what they need to take advantage of what Davis brings to the table. This Micky Loomis/Lauscher bullshite will keep the Pelicans from becoming elite - meaning legit championship contenders. Dell's biggest issue is objectivity - I don't think he can objectively evaluate Williams's coaching because of the nature of their relationship.
