Monty sucks and is clearly holding us back. If you can get a good, qualified and proven coach to come here you fire Monty and don't think twice about it. AD has 6 years to get over it and if we start winning I guaruntee he will.

And I disagree with giving Monty another year. The guy is one of the longest tenured coaches in the NBA, we should know by now whether he is the answer or not. The fact that most either want him gone or are on the fence about him really speaks to the fact that he is not. There is absolutely no point in wasting another year with this guy.

Fans are not qualified to lead a franchise, so their thoughts mean very little.

When they stop showing up they will.

I am on the fence. My thing is that he got us into the playoffs in the West as an 8 seed. 11 wins better than last year is a huge improvement. Could we have done better? Absolutely. But what was it that really held us back from a better seed? Injuries are hard to ignore.

Then again, I see the games that we lost to the Knicks, 76ers, Magic, etc. I see him sit on the bench with no enthusiasm. I see little to no direction during game play. I can see arguments for both scenarios and I am ok with either outcome, as long as it's the right one.

I don't think anyone here expected a championship. However, when we took them to the 4th quarter all tied up in Golden State and had a twenty point lead in game 3, we needed a coach who would guide us to finishing out those games. Monty completely choked away both games and looked like a deer in the headlights coaching not to lose, instead of coaching to win.

Calipari struggles to win championships with enormous talent disparities to separate his teams.

Yes, he won his only championship with the most loaded roster in modern NCAA history.

Then you don't watch college basketball with any regularity.

No, he wouldn't. Cal can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag with instructions on the bottom of a boot full of water. The guy is a dirty coach who gets every team he coaches in trouble. As soon as he leaves Kentucky, the NCAA will suddenly find infractions.

Yeah Cal is an absolutely amazing recruiter, but his coaching to me is questionable.

Well, I don't consider myself a tard (here we go...), and I would prefer to move on from Monty.

Its not that he isn't a decent coach. He is a decent coach. I just think he was a placeholder. A guy that can take a team out of the bottom of the league, work with some young guys, and take them to a certain level.

Nothing I have seen leads me to believe he can take us to another level. I think there is only one question:

Is he THE guy? If he's not, we are at a place where its probably best to move on.

The only thing I can see is the Pels wanting AD to sign that next contract first, have him locked in, and then move on from Monty next summer.
