But if this were a remote possibility, and I had to choose between Melo and Jrue, i'll take Melo for two more years at a dumb price, as opposed to Jrue for 4-5 years at around the same dumb price.

Even Utah comps aren't quite right for me. Pels will be driven by Davis/Cousins on offense in a way that Utah just isn't with Gobert/Favors. And that distinction matters when finding players to fit.
