Dude is tearing it up, but when season comes around his back acts up.

That is what I'm worried is gonna happen again

Sometimes that's what these guys need, a chance to be forced to be the guy. Hopefully he takes this confidence and kicks arse.

Last year he had the back injury that kept him from playing with team turkey. Hence, the whole reason why he was out of shape and ultimately pulled a calf when the season started. I'm honestly not sure why that is so completely ignored when it comes to him.
I never ignored it. But I do forget or not know the whole details.

Asik is pretty good, I'm telling y'all. I have no idea why he's blown chocolate arse with the Pelicans, but he is a better player than he's shown there.

I'm glad you brought this up. This got forgotten from last offseason. It is a trait that helped explain his O rating being respectable

In one of my posts the other day (forget the thread) I predicted we'd see a much better Asik this coming season. He'll finally be healthy (so it seems). He defends the rim, screens well and, by the way, makes a great outlet pass to start the break.

France's front line is pretty shitty

Look again. Their starting frontcourt are both NBA players (Diaw, Lauvergne), which is more than most international teams can say.

Neither of whom are NBA starters (i.e. what you should compare your NBA starter against.) Omer should be dominating backup NBAers

Asik should give you 3 things: 13-14 rebounds per 36, pushing shots away from the rim, and setting effective screens. Expecting anything more than that is asking too much. He needs to get back up around 25 MPG though to raise his dumpability. If we see 7 pts 10 boards on 53%-54% shooting with solid defense in 25 minutes, everyone should be happy.
