I find this so hilarious with all the facts that were being stated this off season.

I think something changed. Gentry was talking earlier in the offseason like they weren't even counting on having Tyreke around at all. Now they're saying he'll only miss a month

We've probably just been over analyzing things. The Tyreke trade rumors have come mostly from 2 sources, Cleveland's reported interest last season right before he reinjured himself, and being the obvious centerpiece from the Pels perspective in a Monroe trade. If Shumpert didn't suck so much after getting paid and Greg Monroe wasn't from NOLA, would we even think the team wanted to trade Tyreke? People on this board might, but there probably wouldn't be much indication from the team that they thought anything other than he wasn't himself last year because he played injured.

Nothing has changed. They aren't counting on him one bit. If he comes back and they can get a minute from him, or better yet an asset in a trade, it's gravy.

But he is not being counted on one bit. And he is not in the long term plans, either. Literally nothing has changed, even if his #1 fan finds today "Hilarious" for some reason.

I also find it interesting that he lives right near the practice facility.

Where is there even a remotely nice neighborhood "near" the practice facility?

The closest 2 I can think of are the Metairie Country Club area or out in River Ridge.

How about how you echoed all summer.

Tyreke won't play for this team again.

To

Tyreke is a 100% gone this off season

To

Tyreke won't play next season

To

Tyreke won't play a meaningful min for this team

To

The reason they're bring Ty in because his days are numbered.

If all that was true, it would look odd. But as usual, you are inaccurate.

Whatever, root for your crush man. You are not a Pelicans fan, you are a Tyreke fan for some reason. Just do come crying when he has zero impact on this team and is gone as soon as they can actually find a taker.

Who that will be - you are right, I don't know. But have never claimed to. Sorry that all I have is bad news about your man crush. I won't say another word about an irrelevant player. You can waste your time though if you want to

One thing that's held consistent since we got him, is you can take the under on Tyreke's injury times.

He always comes back sooner than you'd ever think possible.

I still don't believe we play him like talking about. I mean, Lance Stephenson has the same offensive role but if Tyreke does stick around, we would have to start Lance. Can't ever play both of them together.

Apparently Lauren gave birth?

Per Verrier

They said they were hoping to be able to induce in late September. Hopefully there were no complications and they can begin taking care of Lauren.

I'd think so, but I think coming back from a sprained ankle is a bit different than knee surgery

Wasn't there a six week window on the surgery post birth? That should put the surgery the first week of November. Maybe Jrue returns a couple of weeks after that? Need him ASAP.

Lotta PGs in this draft. Honestly wouldn't mind just cutting bait with Jrue. We shall see.

6 weeks is what I saw, but I guess that depends on the health of the baby and other pre op things. Barring no complications I guess Lauren will be having surgery right around the 1st or 2nd week of the season.

Health of the baby is an issue? I thought the issue was the mother?

Sounds like the baby's fine.

quote:

Lauren Holiday gave birth to a healthy girl this week, New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis said Friday, and both the team and her husband, Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday, now await her surgery to remove a benign tumor from the right side of her brain.

"She had a baby girl, so she's doing fine," Davis said at the Pelicans' media day. "Now it's time to get Lauren back on track."

Something I have heard floated around by a few- Maybe Jrue just plays home games the first few weeks/months

The thinking is that he wouldn't want to leave his recovering wife with the baby while he is gone for days. But for a few hours here and there (practices and games) isn't unmanageable

The biggest problem with that strategy is what it does to the chemistry having him one game and then out the next, then back, etc

But according to a few people, it has at least been thrown out there

Seems like a manageable idea but I thought he was living in North Carolina for a lot of the time during this to be near Lauren's doctors?

I'm with you it would be difficult in chemistry building though.

It wouldn't be until the next phase of the transition. He is gonna miss games regardless, but let's say he comes back in Decembwr with this plan before transitioning to fill time in Jan or Feb

It's been talked about, as have several other options. I just thought this one was interesting and I personally don't like it
