Not sure I EVER expected to say this but: Herb is now 16th in NBA in 3-pt % at 42.3%

Man the fact that Herbs agent was ok with him signing that midseason deal is crazy. Great work by pels but if Im Herb I would have a serious talk with my agent.

The Pels literally offered Herb the biggest contract they legally could

And it set Herb up for life after making like 1.5 million a year his first couple years in the league

It’s clearly an enormous value contract but I don’t think the agent really did anything wrong. A CBA quirk hurt Herb’s wallet more than anything

And the contract only runs through his age 28 season so if he's healthy he'll still get at least two more cracks.

Best role player in the league. We should keep giving him more 3PAs every game until it doesn’t work.

Dinky, we do have to call you out for the Dyson ceiling higher than Herb ceiling angle you took most of the season.

With Herb, the ceiling is the roof.

Can't imagine me saying that...but I say a bunch of stuff...so I'll take your word for it. I'll admit, I am MUCH higher than most here when it comes to Dyson maybe because I think he is SO needed on the defensive end...given our current roster.

On Herb, I think I've always said I have NO idea what his ceiling is (this is a compliment)...since his offensive progress has been SO stunted...and he still has another season or two...before I would feel comfortable forming a decent opinion on his future ceiling. I said the other day that I think we should begin to see his potential "ceiling" around the end of next season. He still has so much room to improve & is doing so at an amazing clip.

A quick edit here: Just to show what I think of Herb...I think he is now, the "best" player on the Pelicans. Just to clarify...I think the "best" means...the player that is MOST important...to your chances of winning a basketball game.

Most agents advise their clients to wait till season is over before agreeing to a deal. Herb easily could have gotten a much better contract if he waited. Honestly, I think this was more of Herb’s choice because most agents would not advise Herb to sign the deal. Again glad he did and good for pels, but Herb could have got a lot more money- thats just the truth.

Let's all be very honest, if the agent was making a decision thinking Herb may be the 12th best NBA 3pt shooter this season, then that agent is a dummy

There's not a one of us who thought that would happen and Herb would be unleashed at a level like THIS, so you can't blame the agent either.

Sometimes getting that guaranteed money is more important in the moment too, process vs results. Had Herb suffered a season ending injury in the preseason, I'm sure we would be talking about how awesome that agent is.

Again happy for pels, but in the market and how this season has gone for Herb- he could have got a massive deal. Hes the best defensive player wing in the league hitting a career high 42 % from three. Griffin here deserves massive props.
