After the game last night, Monty Williams was asked about comparing Michael Jordan, whom he played against, and Lebron James.

His response was sweeter than sugar on donuts.

"Jordan played against men," Williams said. "LeBron plays against young boys. That's the difference."

Some posters probably got the biggest erections when they saw these first two words.

When I first glanced at this thread title, all I saw was

quote:

Monty Fired

and I was like...

Then I read the rest of the title

He has a point, since our "boys" were afraid to give him a hard foul and just let him pump up the crowd in our own arena.

Its pretty obvious that he was just mentioning the obvious. That Jordan never played against teenagers. Up until the late 90s guys were coming into the league at 21-23 years old.

Prime Jordan never got the pleasure of beating up on guys a year out of HS.

As much as Monty coddles his young players and almost treats them as his own kids, he'd never throw them under the bus.

There's a difference between throwing them under the bus and trying to light a fire under their arse IMO

It's good to know our head coach regards his players as children

Gives me some serious confidence as a fan that the big cheese really know what they're doing pretending to coach/manage in the big leagues

I think no one noticed because he was telling the truth.

There's a difference between not noticing and not creating a thread to talk about a poor assumption that no one noticed. There were storied out that night about the quote.

Late to the party, brah!

you don't give hard fouls and risk the rest of the league's health in meaningless games. what statement could a 25-48 team possibly send out?

Showing the crowd that they are willing to compete. Showing Lebron that this is our house, don't pull that show off shite here.

I wanted to see that they cared. It didn't look like they did
