What are the thoughts about trying to sign Otto Porter Jr in the off season? He's a RFA and appears to be the wing guy we need. Makes it unlikely we'd be able to sign Jrue though. We'd probably have to get somebody like Darren Collison maybe. Doesn't cure our SG position, but cures our 3-D spacing issue.
Thoughts?

Washington will keep Porter no matter what.
Kelly Oubre can be had though.

Won't happen. No big time free agent is possible. Any big time/big money player will have to come via trade

My basis for this argument is two-fold...

A) A lot of people, right or wrong, wanted Livingston on this team. He's a good pro and plays good D. However, he's not a starting a PG. He just has length. He, too, can't shoot, but he can rebound and facilitate. That, to me, is what MCW just to a lesser degree and is about 6 years younger.

B) Livingston's best season was the championship year with Gentry running the offense. I'm not saying Gentry is the greatest coach, but maybe he can tap into that with a guy like MCW assuming he's not let go after the season. Frazier is an OK shooter and solid passer, but is very much a liability on D. Assuming we get the shooters this offseason and can somehow afford MCW it wouldn't be a terrible pickup. Again, I think he'd be a solid role player

And, I would never want Scola on this team in a million years. Not even when he was "good".
