Got a chance to talk to him at his camp today in Baton Rouge, told him he should come back to the pels and I was a fan, he said man I wish, so I asked if he's at least in contact with them, he said he was but he's already signed with Detroit. Not much to get excited about, I just thought I'd share cuz this dead period kinda sucks

We could use a 3pt specialist right about now.

I hope we can add a 2 or a 3 that can shoot from outside before FA ends.

I really wish we didn't need to send Galloway in that deal. A few weeks before the trade, I remember seeing a clip of him and his wife talking about how happy they were in New Orleans.

People act like we have up nothing in the Boogie trade but two of the three guys we sent out would help fill the roster.

The team chose to send Galloway out. They didn't need to. Tyreke and Buddy would have been enough for Cousins. MM said that the team thought he was a low BBIQ player and I know a lot of you don't believe what he says, but that would be an odd thing for MM to make up since he was the original driver of the Galloway bandwagon before the team even signed him.

I think they were probably more afraid of him opting in to his deal than his IQ. They'd have had to dump someone just to sign Rondo if Galloway's $5 million was still on the books. But if MM heard that I'm sure the team was ready to explore other options.

I'm not saying I want Galloway back, just someone who can shoot high % 3s, especially in the clutch.

They definitely need to add a shooter and they are working on it.

Sources: With Rajon Rondo in the fold, NOP has been actively trying to acquire wing depth using what is left of their MLE and/or their TPEs.

The Pelicans have approximately $4.3M of the Non-taxpayer MLE remaining and TPEs of $3.5M and $2.0M to use towards acquiring wing depth.

They knew he wasn't opting in. Everyone knew it. Like I said, they did not like his IQ. He had no feel for situational basketball. No clue when he should be gunning vs. when he should be looking to help get others going. There was no way he was going to be on the team, and they could have even done the Boogie trade without Galloway if they wanted, but they WANTED him off the team.

There was never a chance they were bringing him back.

LG is a BR legend for making it to the league, but for the Pels he was always a precarious fit. So glad a dude I used to play against is making $7 mil a year following his dream. Get it Lang, but he had no fit on this team

We can't use that full $4.3 without going into the tax though right? We'd have to dump someone correct?

Correct. That's why we haven't made any other moves yet, Demps is still trying to clear salary whether it's from an Asik buyout and stretch or dumping QPon/Ajinca.

I'm very happy for Langston. I'm sad he wasn't able to remain a pelican, but I'm happy he is playing somewhere and will be making some nice money to do it.

I really hope we can dump QPon/Ajinca and pick up Zeller and Afflalo. I think it might be hard to get Afflalo though b/c we can't promise him much playing time.

Yeah, people act like we should have added another superstar this offseason, but they forget we gave up most of our assets to get Boogie. I consider him our offseason pick up. All we need are another couple role players like Galloway was and Crawford is, and with Boogie and Rondo added we are damn solid. And I would virtually guarantee that Dell gets it done.

ETA: ...and Darius Miller may well be one of those types.
