I can't stand Duncan but he's right on this one.

The only thing he is right about is for the Hornets to wait if they don't get a good deal before tomorrow.

Gordon hasn't played enough (or even been on the bench supporting his team while he was injured) for this team to establish any chemistry with him on the court. Thus, I'm not worried about ruining chemistry.

Gordon hasn't shown he can be a star and has really been flat out bad "closing" games. Has anyone watched this season? He is still riding that label from hitting the game winner against PHO last season.

His trade value couldn't be any lower right now since he's having his worst season as a pro and is still in the process of rehabbing, so we should at least give him the rest of this season and possibly even next season before we really try to move him.

Giving him next season would be a death wish for the Pels, based on past injury history.

Again, Eric Gordon isn't a star. So it doesn't really matter if its him or Thompson in this silly comparison.

After i read that article....it completely solidified my wanting to trade Gordon. Duncan is by far the worst reporter (especially home team reporter) to ever pick up a pad and pen. Fletcher runs a very close second - only because he simply lacks the intelligence to say anything of value. Duncan is simply a douchebag that loves writing the angle that he thinks will give him the most glory regardless of the facts.

Agree. Gordon might one day be a star but another season is passing where he still hasn't proved he is one.

Jeff is also forgetting those Nuggets teams with star Carmelo Anthony that never got out of the first round.

good article. I wrote this last week though on this board.

would be stupid to trade him now. We aren't playing for anything. Might as well hold on to him.

Article from 2011: LINK

4 basketball journalists all claimed that Gordon was the most promising SG in the league. There's no reason to believe that he wouldn't continue to become an elite SG until his serious knee injury happened. It's a risk to keep him and hope he stays healthy, but his value is extremely low right now. There's a reason that GS is even considering giving up a healthy Klay, who you have level with Gordon, for an oft-injured replacement.

thats the problem...
when do the Hornets get the most promising SG in the NBA? Rather than the one they're getting right now, and have been for 2 years?

5 years into Gordons career, how are we so sure this isnt who he is?

You might be right. Or combine the knee with a lack of desire to be here, you might be very wrong. Believe me, I'm still hopeful and I could more easily look past injuries if I saw any fight in him. I know "rah, rah!" does not win a lot of games but you can't tell me every player/coach doesn't absolutely love Greivis for that reason alone. I mean, he can't sit on the bench with a sprained hand..at home.

In August 2011, he may have been the most promising SG in the league. All he's proved since then is he is elite in being injured.

And Thompson is expendable for GS because they already have another guy on their team who makes 3 three pointers a game.

I already said I wouldn't trade Thompson for Gordon, regardless

this...enough of the wait til next year, he's a future star garbage, imo

his track record speaks for itself...not many games, not playing llke a star, and definitely doesn't have a star attitude.

if we can get a pretty good deal, we should do it. Another season of underwhelming play, injuries, and this future star crap continues to go out the window...then we will be stuck with him on his horrible contract

The whole "waiting to let him heal and play to increase his value" thing doesn't work for me.

If we think he's going to stay healthy enough to play consistently and boost his trade value, then we might as well keep him. If we don't think he can do that, then his value isn't getting any higher and we might as well trade him ASAP. I'm trusting Monty and Dell with this one being as they have more insight on his health than we do.

terrible attitude...i don't think he has the desire to become one of the league's best.
