I thought we got Asik? Trade didn't happen?

Everyone is treating it like a done deal, but it can't be completed until we make another move to clear cap space.

Well can anyone come up with a fair trade and works cap wise, between us,Houston and Celtics or Timberwolves, where we get a starting caliber SF? I think we have to try to get it thru the Asik trade to get what we need at the 3... Otherwise, Aminu might be your starting 3 again... lol.

Aren't you the same one that wanted beasley on PR?

No wonder this idea makes zero sense.

I'll be the first to admit I don't know the usual format of trades, but it seems odd that Demps didn't have a solid plan in place to clear the space needed before doing this deal. Can't remember another trade where it was held up for a team to make room for a player they traded for.

To be fair the league is kind of frozen until LBJ/Melo/Bosh etc decide what they'll do.

Yep, everything seems to in a holding pattern right now. I was just confused why he didn't clear space before (or right after) the trade. Isn't that the way it's normally done? Houston traded Asik to partially create cap space in order to pursue FAs and yet we made a trade knowing we didn't have room for him.

Like I said, the inner workings of the NBA are not my strong points.

my guess is they have guaranteed fall back plans if all else fails. i'm thinking we have multiple teams interested in AR and if nothing else gets done we will move him to make the money work

Most probably right and I hate to see that. I have a feeling that kid is going to be a solid, if not extremely good, player in the near future.
