But yeah, I would be scouring every GM for trades right now, looking to send him to a contender or a legit team that is trying to get that 6-7 seed.
We can't (shouldn't) keep him next year, so keeping him for the rest of the year makes no sense. Someone WILL give up stuff for him considering how he's playing and his contract.
That would be smart though. And we have Dell Demps.

I don't know. I'm a huge Diallo fan and think Terrence Jones hinders Diallo's development, but Terrence Jones has had 7 starts and he's averaging 20.3/8.4 in those starts. In the 5 starts where AD was out he's averaging 24.6/8.8
Where else are we going to find a player for $10 million or less that can pick up a good chunk of the scoring load when AD misses a game? With as many games as AD misses and not having a guard/wing capable of putting up much more than 30 on their best night, you need someone like Jones that can fill in for AD when he inevitably misses time.

What is an appropriate amount to pay for an instant injection of 25 ppg in paint scoring when your superstar big misses an average of 15 games a year? Paying Ryno $20 million to stay in that role was silly.
You hate Jones stylistically, I do too to a certain extent, his shot selection is beyond bad for his skill set. However, he's not nearly as bad as you make him out to be. 16.8 per and .99 WS/48. Per says he above average, WS/48 pegs him right at average. The MLE is by definition average salary, so giving him the $8.4 million MLE would seem to be appropriate if he's able to keep this up. And as bad as he shoots from everywhere outside of the paint, he really should be capable of improving his efficiency by a lot.
