He should never shoot a three, but any time they leave him open he throws a brick up. Hint to Terrence: they leave you open for a reason. Hint to Uncle Alroy: they leave him open for a reason.

That said, he isn't much better running the lane. He may lead NBA front court players in getting their shot blocked.

Oh, but he must be a locknown defender to warrant this kind of run, right? Nope. We just have one of Dell Derps' patented shite rosters where awful is better than God awful.

I guess he, at least, didn't steal the ball from his own player like the frenchtard.

Get outta here! He's not a star, but he's one of the best backup frontcourt players we've had who plays with energy and can give you 15-20 on any given night. Last night was one of his tougher assignments with 2 more athletic bigs defending him.

I agreed Jones has been great for us. Without him we would have lost more games he has been solid and his defense has actually been good so far

He was over matched last night having to guard probably the best big combo in the nba between Griffen and Jordan

Are we just going to ignore that he's as big of a black hole offensively as Ryno without having the shot?

No, Jester's right. He scores decent around the basket and that's it, only he thinks he can score from anywhere on the floor. Has he been a positive for a minimum contract afterthought? Yes. But they really need Diallo to develop and take his role.

I agree that we need Diallo to develop, but Jones is doing what we are asking of him and what we expected. Dude is a decent finisher, rebounds, runs the floor, and has some fire to him. I'm not saying he is the greatest player in the world, but if we wouldn't have signed him, we would be forced to play more small ball and/or have ajinca getting his minutes. The one area of his game I agree on is that he cant shoot very consistently.

Yeah, he's been really awful. His per 36 min stats are only over 15 pts and over 8 rebounds per game.

Have you seen this roster? Dude has been one of our best acquisitions in the off-season, if not the best

exactly.

Of all players I've seen us have since the team has come from Charlotte, Terrence Jones isnt a player to complain about.

Jones has been a very good addition and has been a solid contributor.

So what? If you're a minimum guy I'm not going to rip you for not having skill, but I think it's fair game to call you out for playing stupidly. He's shooting 77.6% at the rim. That's fantastic, the problem is that's only 31% of his shots. The other 69% of his shots are being taken from areas of the floor where he's shooting between 16% and 35%. And unfortunately that 35% is not from 3 where he's shooting just 21% this year and 30% for his career.

I understand that he can't take 100% of his shots at the rim and that shooting from other areas opens up his opportunities at the rim, but you can't find a better ratio of terrible shots to good shots than 70:30? I think it's a fair criticism and shouldn't be brushed away because of his salary or having other stats that do look good. He could be even better if he'd play smarter.

not sure why it as to be black/white...from the OP on down.

Jones was a smart bet. he has paid off with his play. good for him and the team

Jones is a flawed player (jumper, defense). he is likely in his ideal role- off the bench scorer.

both are true. that the Pels play him so much because they have no other reliable big men isn't really his fault.

look at it this way
pels could easily have drafted Jones

if they had, he'd likely be the same player on a much more onerous deal
small victories...

So what, what?

He's a $1 mil player, he's flawed. It goes without saying.

The what is we are built in a way where we are relying on that $1 million player like he was a $10 million player. If Lance hadn't been hurt we'd be relying on 2 guys like that. The OP was voicing his frustration at a flawed player having such a big role and people think he's being unreasonable because said flawed player is a good value. He can both be a good value and have too big of a role.

So it's Jones' fault he has too big of a role?

The list of things to complain about this 7-13 team and org runs long, just seems picking apart the $1 mil man giving us 25 mpg is, as the kids say, "petty"
