comments have been made about bringing a guy in to help take some of the creating burden off of Holiday. some Pels fans have taken that to mean Holiday is a 2 now, ergo the team needs a ball dominant pg

Fantastic! I guess I'll jump on the #rideforBledsoe bandwagon too, why the hell not! Go for gold Demps!!

Yeah, I think many of us are hoping so hard for Bledsoe that we will be disappointed in whoever else we get.

If Plan A is moving our garbage plus Moore and pick(s) for Bledsoe/Dudley and Plan B is Reggie Jackson/Dudley without giving up picks, I think we'll be ok with Plan B as long as Jackson's knee is ok.

I'm not really okay with that plan B. It's very shortsighted and cap-straps this team for years to come. Your only hope for flexibility after that move is if you lose your second all-star in free agency.

If plan A, B, and C involve Asik leaving, I am fine with any option without knowing who we are getting.

Except Asik's contract isn't anywhere near the worst in the NBA.

No, not really close. However, when considering the player and his game (not in demand in the NBA any longer), it is pretty bad.

It totally isn't, but at least most other bad contracts see the court from time to time

If he manages to shed Asik, get Bledsoe and not mortgage all of our future picks......Dude will have totally redeemed himself for any shite moves

So, is this being talked about in a four team trade with Houston, New York, and Phoenix?

Or just a trade between the Pelicans and Sons?

It's mostly being discussed in the pipe dreams of Pelicans Talk

I would shite a live chicken if we got Bledsoe without giving up AD/Jrue/Boogie/multiple 1st

When the 2 teams supposedly helping facilitate the Knicks/Rockets Melo trade were said to be the Pels and the Suns. There is no actual source other than we know that the Pels want Bledsoe. The rumors that have come out so far have us getting Ryno which doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

maybe not, but its a deal with a VERY limited pool of trade partners to choose from. that partner must have:

1) cap space to burn for an asset
2) an owner willing to stretch his deal
3) a straight-up tanking/rebuilding strategy

its' still really bad for this year, except for certain teams that need salary and could care less about winning, like Phoenix and Brooklyn.
Next year his contract will actually not be that bad, and going into that trade deadline, and then the offseason, if we still have him, it'll be an awesome contract b/c it's worth $11M in trades, but only costs a team $3M after they cut him, so it makes teams looking to make trades to shed money very happy.

How is it not the worst contract? Its 14M a year for a 3rd stringer that is about to get beat out by a 2nd round pick. Plus the guy has major health issues that make him impossible to trade. I can't imagine a worse one.

Btw, nobody is taking his contract. If you give someone a 1st to take it, that means that team is paying 20M+ for a mid 1st round pick. Who does that?

Because it's shorter than new bad contracts.

Touche, I just don't get defending bad contracts by bringing up other bad contracts. Its still really bad and has screwed the team over.

Back to the OP. Would Bledsoe be the SG? Holiday is being paid like a premier PG. If he moves to SG, he becomes even more massively overpaid. 25M a year for a 16ppg SG would be crippling..

I remember when this board was filled with posts hoping to acquire Turkish Greg Ostertag. How far brick hands has fallen.
