That's dumb. That's how these things work. Cp3 would've won it over Kobe in 2008 if we had won a couple more games. They usually give it to the person who's team is better. Usually.

35 points? Lol

Ok ok. Still think he can get thirty. With cousins he will most likely end with 28 or so. They will own every inch of the paint this season and it's going to be fun to watch.

its going to be hard to keep Cousins inside the 3pt line schematically and because it seems like he wants to be out there.

was it Lowe/Haberstroh or another pod talking about Cousins being more of your stretch/playmaking 4 and Davis being more of a 5? i think that has some merit. Davis's length, explosion, and touch around the rim are uncanny. Cousins has a better dribble/passing game and better range.

doesnt mean Davis always needs to be on the block or that Cousins needs to be stationed at the top of the key or jacking 3s up w/o conscience like we saw at times.

the trick will be leveraging those tangible skills into other, better actions for the team and themselves.

my concern with cousins is no matter what scheme the coaches try to implement, he's going to do whatever he wants to do. 8 years of habit gonna be hard to break

He's never played with a peer in the NBA either. This is about as set up for success as a star player as he'll ever be. Time to see if he can be a winner or if he's Derrick Coleman 2.0.

exactly.

a drawback to the young vet strategy....we have seen it w/ Holiday, Gordon, and Evans. and none of those guys carry the baggage that Cousins does.

hope has to be Davis buys in, is in Cousins's ear, and is showing Cousins his own sacrifices.

most interviews I've seen he comes across as thoughtful and intelligent.
I just wonder if at this point he's jaded by 8 yrs in sacto of nothing good happening despite any effort from him to be a team player

I certainly wouldn't blame him at all if now that he's missed out on the DVPE that he just looks out for himself but clearly the hope is that Davis can influence him. He's a strong willed dude though

some of the baggage, particularly early career stuff w/ Westphal and Colangelo, seemed unfair to me. some of the more recent stuff paints him in a less flattering light.

i just think it's hard for guys who are talented and successful (at least individually) playing a certain way to change that style, especially when it means a likely drop in points/prestige.

for this to work, they need a good system and they need both guys to welcome giving back some shots, points, and not being the central focus of the offense every possession

If ad has "that season" and maintains in playoffs, he could be dirk novitski.
