How far can he take this team with the current roster as it is? Would 2nd rd of playoffs be fair or could he even carry the team further?

I'd say let's make the playoffs first.

The west is difficult to navigate compared to the east. The road trips are more vast and travel is longer. If we were in the east I'd say a second round appearance is guaranteed, but we are not.

The first thing the pelicans need to do is establish a playoff reputation, maybe that is taking a higher seed to 7 games. They just need to get into the dance, and go from there.

I say let's allow the offseason to play out and so what our actual roster is before making any determination

Nevertheless the first step is making the playoffs in the first place and then do it consistently

If AD lays off the three pointers he will realize his strengths.

You can make a strong case for AD being the best player in 2015 when Curry won his first MVP

Strong, damn strong. Gave me a nice chuckle.

I suppose Lavar could take AD one on one. Smh.

They've said all the right things about changing how they use AD/DC and backed up those words with hiring Finch. The main question is do they have enough shooting and cutting to help unlock AD/DC. Zach Lowe and Tom Haberstroh were talking about the Pels and while they are doubting it works based on last year, they think they have the potential to challenge the Warriors if they're able to get it right. Getting it right involves having enough shooting and cutting around AD/DC running the offense out of the high/low post rather than the 3 point line. I think the Pels are going to be the team that everyone underestimates this year and the Wolves are going to be the team that everyone overestimates.

AD will become the best player in the nba only if KD, Westbrook, curry, Lebron, and
kawhi die before the season starts

4th seed would be close, but OKC is the only one you could theoretically pass up.

The thing the top 3 have is coaching and depth.

OKC doesn't, but OKC has two ball handlers who can do more for the team than Davis/Cousins. The thing that may make us better is Jrue.

If he becomes the best player in the NBA this year (depending on how we fill out the rest of the roster) we would challenge for the west conf finals.

AD being the best means that he's better than KD Steph and Kawhi out west, and those guys are really fricking good. For AD to surpass them he'd have to have a crazy line for the year (35pts 14rebs and 3blks with like 3ast) , and he'd have to be better defensively.

Funny, considering in 2015 he was better than all of them.

He's the 7th best player currently, and he's the youngest of the top 7. They are in their prime, he isn't.

I don't agree with Stephen A. on everything, but dude knows his basketball (save for his finals predictions).

He's always said AD will eventually be the best player in the league.

He's better defensively than all but Kawhi

35 points? Lol.

If he could do 28/12 but with more assists and 2+ blocks... high PER (like 30ish), it would be hard for anyone to say he didn't have the best season of all of these. Again, the dude would've won MVP a couple years ago if the team would've finished with a better record.

If you need you're team to finish with a better record to win MVP, you're not the MVP

No. It's because big men don't control the ball. Very simple to understand
