You think hes crunching numbers and making phone calls or just kicking back and waiting to see what everyone else does? I'm not opposed either way but I do think he should assume Holiday is not coming back.

He works harder than you can even imagine. It's not a "work hard" issue with him. As I have been telling you guys for years, his two issues are: Inability to accept sunk cost and optimism bias. It's that simple.

Figuring how he can make the Pels underpreform even more.

Good thing he isnt in a job where his decisions are directly tied to profits.

We can all knock him, but about 95% of people have these problems. And I see those same two issues on this board ALL THE TIME

I was one of the very few saying to move on from Gordon when he was a RFA. The argument given back to me every single time? "You can't give up on the biggest piece in the CP3 trade."

Or the smartest humans can move on from sunk cost and truly accept it. And so many fans have optimism bias. Almost all of them.

Read this board. Go to any topic, any post, and I bet you will see optimism bias or some inability to accept sunk cost

There are no lazy GM's. You don't get to be a GM without a relentless work ethic.

You are defending the GM of the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association by saying that a lot of people on Pelicans Talk (a board on forum named after feces) also possess his psychological flaws.

In all fairness, no fan is being paid handsomely as a professional to make decisions that build an NBA team.

The problem is not his inability to accept sunk cost, it's how fervently he refuses to accept sunk cost. If you go into the offseason thinking, "man, I gotta make sure we bring back Asik", ok. Well, there's a smart way to attempt to bring him back, and there's a dumb way. Just throwing an absurdly high number at a guy right off the bat that he couldn't possibly say no to...that's the dumb way.

The problem is being a great GM isn't solely about hard work. It's about creativity and having a vision that is maleable and working with what you got. Instead, Dell has a vision that he refuses to adjust to his circumstances. That's why you get a horrid fit in players and horrid fit in coaching philosophy.

Dell is and has been the biggest reason for the decline of the Pelicans franchise despite having a top 5 NBA talent on the team.
