And that worked for Denver better than it did for NY, I think. Like I said before, we got a great package for only giving up one player.

maybe so, but it would have been a lot less trouble and worked out ok for everyone if melo had just committed to his team. superstars should do it more.

The Clippers aren't capable of beating a well-coached Memphis team let along competing with San Antonio.

The Grizzlies should have won this series 4-1. I still think that even with their dumb frick coach who plays Quincy Pondexter as #8 off his bench for 20 minutes in a pivotal playoff game they have figured out how to beat the Clips.

Wait, what?

I agree, but apparently the culture of the NBA now is NY or LA, nothing else matters

No one in this state has "Clipper envy". If CP3 beats the Spurs, than I understand his decision for leaving. If he doesn't make conference finals than his leaving for "basketball reasons" will be fun to laugh at.

See I can understand people being mad about that. But that cant bring me to hate him. And the way he forced his way out cant make me hate him either cause he handled it better than any of the other superstars that left/threatened to leave their teams (Lebron, Melo, Dwight).

this is another thing i would argue...he didn't handle it better. he just worked at making it look like he handled it better...the trade still went down, we still had a hostage season, etc.

I mean he wasn't as blatantly obvious about it. Look any time a superstar wants out it will be a distraction and it will get out to the media. The difference between CP and the other guys is how he handled the media. IMO he answered questions the way he did (like saying "l love New Orleans") so it wouldn't cause a even bigger media fiasco and become even more of a distraction. The only thing that CP said publicly that caused a distraction was the Melo wedding incident. Him wanting out may have been a distraction the last few years but you cant sit here and tell me it was as bad as those other 3 superstars wanted out. CP tried to downplay the whole thing and thank God he did or else shite would've been even worse the past few years.

If we are comparing these four, I'd say:

1. CP - to me, he said all the right things
2. LeBron - other than the 'decision', I don't have any problems with what he did
3. Melo - publicly attention whoring and not flexible (only NY)
4. Dwight - super douche, gone back and forth along his word

i got you. I just think this was self-serving behavior. He wanted less of a distraction for himself, not because he loved New Orleans or wanted what was best for the organization...It could have been more of a distraction, and i'm glad it wasn't, but i still dislike him all the same

Very true but with him being the best player in basketball it was still a huge distraction. But I agree that's not his fault. The only thing that bothered me about him leaving was 'the decision' part.

That may be. I guess we'll never really know his intentions.

the most annoying thing to me is these guys all using the "i want to win" tagline...it just seems like bullshite to me. Lebron was in the finals with the Cavs and so was Dwight...Denver and Utah had their chances too (Deron and Melo).

yea that gets annoying. But since the Magic made the finals the FO did a really really really shitty job so I can understand the frustration. Still, he handled it like a little bitch.

"Clipper envy"?

Has anyone ever been envious of the Clippers for anything...ever?

That's like being envious of the guy in chess club in high school or something.
