Whatever "Clipper Envy" people perceived that I had died after our season series. I hate the Lakers because of who they are but I hate the Clippers for what they've become.

I'd much rather have an offseason full of hope rather than accomplishment at this point. Because hope is two top 10 picks but accomplishment is getting blown out in the first round à la the Jazz.

I'm with you. If he loved the city so much why didn't he give Dell and Monty a chance. They proved they were here to win. And they knew a owner was happening soon. All Chris had to do was commit to next year and we'd be fine. That pisses me off. But hey at the same time it was his decision. I'm not gonna hate him for that. especially after what he did for this franchise.

Exactly. I think he did it the right way. We got a great trade package for him.

Remember, he also tried to force a LAL trade with his Lebrongency "leaking" a completed trade and putting out that Stern "vetoed" the deal, which was extremely inaccurate. He basically played the whole thing like a politician. Let someone else do the dirty work so he can keep deniability intact. However, when the LAL deal didn't happen, he lost his composure and spoke truthfully for once. Then, when he was introduced at the LAC press conference, he was in full image repair mode.

If we do well in the draft, he will regret his decision in a few years. I can't wait

Because he was using his Lebrongency to tamper and undercut his value to all teams other than the Knicks and Lakers. Because he was lying through his teeth the whole time like a snake in the grass. "No, I don't want to be traded. I love New Orleans." Because he stopped caring at the end of last year and would pout at the ends of games leading to losses. It's been covered ad nauseum.

If you want to keep loving him, go for it, but don't expect me to.

I realize this has but I genuinely want to understand why yall hate him cause I cant bring myself to do it. And he probably "lied" so it wouldn't be as much of a distraction. Sorry to bring this debate up again but I dont get how people hate him for simply "forcing" his way out of here. I can maybe understand the lack of effort argument but on the other hand he was coming off major knee surgery and was not in as good of shape.

I dont remember seeing anything about his camp leaking the trade news.

edit:

you mean when he tweeted "are you kidding me?" after the trade was vetoed? that's all I saw him say during that time. And remember we were all pissed too. We thought it mean that no deal would get done and he'd have to play here all season or at least half a season. I was pissed then too.

This. Chris Paul is a good human being, it is obvious from his off the court life. He wanted to leave for "basketball reasons" and that is his prerogative. At least he didn't Dwight or LeBron us.

Subject: Clippers havent even gotten out of first round!

To say we have "Clippers Envy" is a little far fetched. Did Clippers fans have "Hornets Envy" last year when we lost in the 1st round too? Memphis should have won this series easily and still should pull off the comeback IMO.

The Clippers aren't capable of beating a well-coached Memphis team let along competing with San Antonio.

The Grizzlies should have won this series 4-1. I still think that even with their dumb frick coach who plays Quincy Pondexter as #8 off his bench for 20 minutes in a pivotal playoff game they have figured out how to beat the Clips.

But they’re closer to the top than Paul would’ve been had he stayed, and they’re closer because of him. And that can’t be questioned, not even in New Orleans.

Why can't it be questioned? We were in the playoffs last year... He is basically stating unequivocally that we would not have improved at all in the offseason, which I consider false. We went into rebuilding mode BECAUSE he left. If he left LA right now, it would have the exact same result. Like Corndeaux said, his situation this year is very similar to last year. His all-star PF just didn't tear an ACL this year.

even if we did improve in the off season a starting lineup of paul, marco, ariza, some different 4 than landry, and oak ... with a few different bench players...that's no better than a 7 seed at best.

he's better off where he is now, and we should be happy with the direction we're going.

I don't HATE Chris Paul like a lot of you do. I think he did us okay by making sure that we got fair compensation in return.

Deron Williams and CP3 didn't completely screw over their small market teams like LeBron did and like Dwight Howard is doing.

But with that said, I don't LIKE him anymore and secretly I always kind of resented the way he flopped in the playoffs. He flopped at least as bad as Dirk and Ginobli in those playoffs and he's continued to do so since then. Not a huge fan of that, and glad I can gleefully call him out on it now.

not saying he isn't, but his off court life doesn't necessarily mean he's a good human being.

meh...we had the same situation as carmelo. played a whole damn season with all the "where will chris paul go" drama with no intention by him to consider staying in NO

he is very easy to dislike now that he isn't a Hornet imo.

...it's much harder to dislike Z Bo.

this...seems pretty reasonable to me. but you can expect anything like that from today's NBA stars

And that worked for Denver better than it did for NY, I think. Like I said before, we got a great package for only giving up one player.

As others have pointed out, a great PG doesn't equal championships.
